RE: Share Price Pre-Covid and Now21 Jan 2021 10:48
The point that markinvestor is slightly inexpertly making is that the people that are classed by some as idiots are absolutely essential to the life of the overall ecosystem - in that if these people did not do their jobs then we would all have to spend 5% of our time stacking shelves, emptying bedpans and shovelling the proverbial.
In the world of stocks and shares the same applies - the market makers ramp the prices up only when they can detect useful buying pressure that they can take for a ride by selling short - they then move the price back down, as they have done in the last week, in order to get the shares that they need to close their short. In that sense the idiots are also necessary to the successful operation of a market such as AIM because they are the people who pay the wages of the people who control the market.
Just like the punters who flock through the doors in Vegas for cheap carbs and endless sprite end up paying the wages of the crime bosses.
