fb - I think you are assuming that the term is in some way meant in a derogatory way - there is another way to read it - as purely a technical term to indicate something (in this case a share ownership) is not as tightly held as something that is more strongly held. There is no good or bad implication in either of these terms, though of course different commentators can put their own interpretation on whether weak is advisable (good) or not (bad).

As I mentioned earlier on this morning if you have a very large shareholding in a company that is fundamentally undervalued then you want to do your best to make the market wake up to the fundamentals and not worry about the short term trading fluctuations.

In this situation the most advisable thing to do is to reduce volatility in the share price by acting with a small part of your shareholding to counterbalance the buying/selling behaviour of the rest of the market. This means holding the shares relatively weakly when the rest of the market is desperate to get their hands on them and then strongly trying to buy them when short termists are selling out. The strength (weak or strong) with which one holds these stability shares must therefore be able to adapt to market conditions.

I also like proving to all those who don't have as strong a view of the company as I do that they do not need to worry about the silly little games that the Market Makers and other agents try playing with the share price.

CG - not if the alternative is the Market Makers simply hiking up the price so that they can walk it down later and scare people.

The point about selling into buying strength is that it can avoid the MMs running their own big short positions, as you have given them the liquidity they need to balance their books.

This trading is 90 degrees out of phase with the most obvious 'sell at the top buy at the bottom' strategy, and is not as personally enriching, but it does reduce volatility so that people can concentrate on the company fundamentals and not get freaked out by the daily SP movements.

NervousEggBasket - indeed there is a great deal of experience and knowledge here - one specifically that comes to my mind is when I was £150,000 pounds down having invested £300,000 prior to the end of 2016 when the SP went below 2p. Despite this I continued to take advantage of that short term irrationality by buying in large quantities.

Now I am £4 million pounds up and not interested in selling apart from to cool down the SP during periods of frantic buying. This is precisely so that I have cash ready to buy during periods of arbitrarily induced SP reduction such as today. People should try it, it's a great getting a bargain in such a gold (vanadium the new gold) plated business.

no it is a consolidation. The trend is upwards.

NervousEggBasket - you should do your own research and then make a decision as to whether you wish to remain invested in a company that has the fundamentals that BMN has, or whether you are prepared to get divorced from your shares on the basis of 2 days of trading action. I think you will find that it always makes sense to have a long term view.

EggBasket - I advise to only ever invest for the long term that way you don't need to continually worry about your investments.

If you do wish to trade on a daily basis then you will need to give up your current job, as leaving it to the discretion of the brokers, who are hand in glove with the Market Makers will lead to only one conclusion - which will you getting ripped off.
