Almost everyone who clicks on the pveducation link I posted earlier will want to compare Johannesburg (lat -26 deg) with the UK (London lat 51 deg, Manchester 53.5 deg, Edinburgh 56 deg)

The ones who will not wish to compare are no doubt already aware that there is much less seasonal variation in South Africa so the PV system can be useful all year round, and all day long if you have a battery that can save the energy from the day for use at night.

Buzzipster - sorry to burst your bubble but this Volgelstruisfontein is not the same Volgelstruisfontein as referenced viz the Mokopane project ( https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/slides/slide/geological-map-of-mokopane-64 ) - it is just a coincidence of names.

Thus this 60MWh battery would not going to support a single mine, but it would be going to support multiple districts in South West Johannesburgh (Florida, Paarderand and Robertsville) only 20km from Bushveld Energy's office in Sandton.

But it gets better - we don't have to find the money to build this, Eskom and the South African government will. And it will STILL be the 8th largest battery in the world.

Yep Ecclestone of Hallgarten was first sniffy about 'amateur research', then unprofessional, then just downright rude.

Pleased I don't have his self-centred nonsense cluttering up my twitter feed any more and also that @BMNperspective now also has more Twitter followers than their 'research' company has.
