The disconnect between the current BMN share price and what is really happening on the ground here at the Vanitec Energy Storage and International Flow Battery Forum here in Lyon could not be starker. Mikhail is clearly one of the leading voices in the entire VRFB industry. Fortune runs the only primary producing mine outside of China whose output is not controlled by Glencore. That is the same Glencore who, it appears, didn't even bother to turn up for the Vanitec meeting yesterday.

JMC69 and Bella - good spots on the Vaneck reduction in holding and potential trade candidates. I think it is quite possible that the trades that happened around 13:40 on the 3rd July correspond to Vaneck ones. Previous position reductions have been accompanied by an individual price reversal and subsequent reposting of a single consolidated trade, and we may yet see such a confirmatory sequence of trade reports. Alternatively the way that the trades appear might be different now as Vaneck are no longer officially mandated to hold BMN because BMN has come out of the underlying RE tracker.

Halespur - indeed that is a good way to go. Of course this is what all these smart meters are going to help with - allowing for different pricing during the day, depending on the availability of energy, and without the need to install a completely separate meter such as the old Economy7.

Grid batteries will be incredibly useful in allowing the existing transmission grid to cope with increased overall energy transmission whilst keeping keeping the existing transmission lines (built to meet peak instantaneous demand) unchanged. The simple idea is that instead of having to transmit all the energy long distances during peak times you install grid batteries around the place and charge them up at the non-peak times. Like doing your homework a few days before you need to hand it in non all at the last minute.
