Airlines are bracing for the end of the ‘revenge travel’ boom, also known as the period of high fare rises following the end of pandemic lockdowns, when passengers were desperate to travel.
Many airlines, including Ryanair, have been forced to drop ticket prices to fill their aircraft in recent months.
On Monday, the carrier sent shockwaves through European aviation when it warned that air fares would be 'materially lower' in the summer months, following a 15% year-on-year fall in the spring.
