No, I would certainly not recommend taking any position in response - whether in agreement or in opposition. He is a trickster, a scammer, so I would recommend ignoring, filtering or better report and get rid of him.

I don't thrown around the term psychopath often. Whatever his motive, it is clear he enjoys misleading people, ramper, deramper, shorter, paid lackey - or plain nutter - I've actually lost interest and have reported him more times than I can count.

He's posted 3 times on i3E. 2 of which were contradictory. If he is who I think he is, the key thread in his 'personas' is to undermine investor's confidence. His approach is predatory in that he seeks to win trust then attacks and undermines. Do I credit him with a dark motive? Honestly, having tried to figure him out before (it didn't end well) my conclusion was he's a waste of time and most likely a private trader.

Apologies DC, realise I still haven't answered your question ... the penny dropped after several posts using a similar pattern and tone, particularly the last one. He has been remarkably well behaved on here but then the LSE board is much more effectively moderated than others so he's probably wary of getting reported and kicked off as that would spoil his shorting games.

Sorry, DC, just for completeness, Diego has had a decent track record so far so as far as I'm concerned no reason to doubt him either.

I guess we all have different definitions of the word 'trust'. I trust certain people to a certain extent until proven otherwise. As you say, most of us have no idea who we're actually talking to on these BBs, but in the interests of cordiality and maybe learning something, one way or another, it's preferable to give the benefit of the doubt.

I had suspicions about EV but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Aduk had him / her / earthling sussed from the get go. I wasn't so sure. Pisces I extend the same benefit of the doubt to as his posts seem to correlate with others.

Most importantly, do I base my decisions on what's posted on a BB? No. Do I find it interesting and do I learn something? Yes.
