I emailed them and made them aware there were some negative rumours being spread and asked them to act to quash them. I don't interpret their lack of reply to date as negative. When and if I get a reply I will update here. In the meantime - I'm relying on fundamentals and market need. Are we producing? Yes. Is that set to increase next year? Yes. Is demand for Oil and Gas actually real? Yes. Will the price rise long term? Oh yes. Just hold - there's no way this isn't going back up.

He was referring to Lancaster I believe. If I'm honest I didn't really concern myself as it was pure speculation. I am prepared to watch the SP fall to new lows, followed (in my possibly entirely deluded opinion) by new highs. Lancaster has exceeded expectation. Lincoln's results were positive. The result at Warwick West (a purely exploratory well and I gather extremely useful in further data analysis) was by no means a failure. Priorities are focused on producing at Lancaster and building up data on the entire Rona Ridge as a long term exercise. In my view someone or perhaps someones have a very clear agenda for scaremongering - which to me, I'm afraid, wrong or right, is just a 'buy' signal. I urge you to take time out and get your head around the data on Hurricane's website, review the demand for oil and gas in the next ten years, it's not decreasing and consider in whose interests it might be to bring the SP down?

However, his data on potential increase of water was not calculated using the same time periods or frankly data that Hurricane use. It was, perhaps he may agree, in hindsight not entirely fair to attempt this, but nevertheless his, I would suggest if you read Hurricane's actual findings on their website, were not accurate. The naysayers, traders and whoknowswhaters in the employ of whoknowswho then jumped on this to scare holders into selling. This along with the dip in SP has led to a sense of despondency as we currently inhabit a sea of red. The naysayers and panic mongers have used this to infer that perhaps Hurricane's next update is bound to be negative. This goes against all the current evidence in play, ergo - it's total bull**** and hold.

In short, DSPP who has posted some very thoughtful and considered things on Lemon Fool and on other boards, posted some speculatory findings based on data he gathered from the Oil and Gas Authority website. However, and it is an ENORMOUS

I think Shutts himself posted his concerns. My view is had this board not been polluted with endless doubt, doom and gloom he may have held. Would that have been the right thing to do? I read the Art of Execution on the recommendation of other posters and one piece of advice stayed with me - those who cut their losses at 15%, statistically lost less and profited more than those who didn't. So in that sense I respect his decision to make a decision. I made this decision a while ago because I'm not great at trading and didn't buy in here at low prices (44p was my average). I cut my investment by 75% in the summer because I was overextended. That was the right decision for me as I can now relax to some extent (a great deal more than I could before) having profited from and made other investments in the interim in addition to Hurricane.

I've read Shutt's posting history. He seems to have been as optimistic as anyone else here. If he needs to protect his capital at this point and can't afford the ups and downs or finds the risk unappealing - fair play - if that were the end of it. Maybe he is projecting his own fears? That's human. Will be very interesting to review all this in a year's time given that none of us are actually clairvoyant. My hope and wish is Hurricane indeed blow everyone out of the 'water'!

I base my optimism on success so far and I do view it as success. If you know something factual, based on evidence - fantastic - please share. Otherwise let's see what the passage of time brings to this exploratory and now very productory operation!

Is all going to be fine. No worries peeps. Have checked the tealeaves and ze configuration shows some dark spots with the possibility of growth, I see great growth but much jealousy and some shady characters who mean harm and may be a bit greedy waiting on the sidelines -

Wish I was clairvoyant. Still fwiw, I may be completely deluded and suffering from bias, it is possible, but nothing other than the SP action has really fundamentally changed here. My 'sixth' sense is telling me the drop presages a rise. (Oh God I can see Ricfle rubbing his hands together in glee at ripping this post apart). If I was a betting person and ironically I'm not, I see a rise coming soon - shorts have not increased have they? Little *hits.

The question that really needs answering is whose or what agenda are they serving? Any detectives out there?

Will update when and if I get a response from Hurricane. If it's price sensitive either way - up or down - I may not get anything useful back! Everything is speculation here at the moment. Again, if you've got more than you can afford to lose in here then rebalance or sell, if you are taking an informed and speculative buy based on the company's consistent performance and prospects long term - hold. Your post, Shutts, confirms something for me. I do think there's a brigade of naysayers out there, are you perhaps the foolish chap who couldn't be bothered to read anything on the Hurricane website before asking your question?
