Surely they will only filter up through dividends, what other mechanism is there. It's not esl trading. The value of their shareholding will subjectively increase in the holding company as it performs but as the trading co is not listed we won't know a running market value?

I presume as the trading company is not listed, we will only ever get sporadic trading statements if any at all, and likely no regular updates, or does anyone think differently, I am just speculating.

So for esl to reap any rewards and to make headway into any dept does there have to be dividends paid upwards from trading co, of which esl will get 49% or is there another mechanism for profits and cash.

The trading co, leases the stobart name I believe, does this generate cash for esl.

Could someone expand?

Who would actually issue a trading update I. This scenario, genuine question.

Esl is the minority shareholder in the trading sub, the trading sub is not listed. Do the trading sub issue some sort of update and this is filtered upwards then issued as an update by ESL the shareholder?

I can see why these type of updates might not be as forthcoming or regular than we would like.

There have been a few good posts over the last few days. If I knew, or of someone knows how to post pictures, someone could post a group structure chart.

Up until yesterday I believe some holders were still thinking ESL were the trading entity.

No TR1s should be due, tinker was already under the 3% reportable last tr1 and AXA/Investco were both under the ii reportable 5%.

I concur, when the selling pressure is gone which will or should coincide approximately with company updates we will see an uplift in the market cap.

I wouldn't go that far.

But I believe we will see an uplift in price, I believe we are undervalued and the next month should be ok for investors

I'm not saying it's a bad think, but I don't understand some people not accepting what the company has said in official releases.

If the company are lying or have it wrong in your opinion, you may as well sell up now as that is a level of corporate incompetence that is unforgivable.

It holds an investment in an operating business.

Are you saying the company has gotten this fact materially wrong in there own published and checked RNS publication?

A shell company is a company which has no assets and is used as a vehicle to hold and shift money in financial manoeuvres. ... A cash shell company is similar but with cash in the bank. They are corporate vehicles floating on the stock exchange which have no operating business but can be filled with assets.
