Angus is still mobilising and rigging up equipment at Balcombe.

Baits - from the Angus presentation to Balcombe Liaison Group...we will not use a rig at Balcombe...just a crane and a coiled tubing unit. The liner is slotted (pre-drilled holes before run in hole), so no need for perforations. I would say they should have finished or finishing off the final touches to the bund.

5. Will a tower or a large ‘rig’ be constructed, or heavy machinery be used?
There will be no ‘rigs’ utilised for the purposes of the actual test or on site.
If you have ever seen ‘rigs’ and /or towers utilised, they are always temporary over short periods as compared to construction sites for example. Therefore, in the main, oil fields do not create an unusual or industrial visual presence during routine operations.
The largest piece of heavy machinery we will use (all temporary) is called a Coiled Tubing Unit. It is a very large spool of narrow tubing which is approximately 2 inches in diameter. A lifting crane will also be used to position the various equipment on site.

Balcombe Parish Council have been very good with keeping us up to date....they act fair, are impartial and don't try to influence SP's.

I would expect an update from them to say that they have been given the 7 day notice for commencement of flow testing phase.

111baker - regarding your infrastructure comment.....this isn't a newly discovered offshore field between Scotland and Norway.....the costs are actually quite reasonable for small oil companies like Angus and UKOG for that matter.

“At 11.02 am today Wednesday 12 September Mid Sussex District Council informed Balcombe Parish Council that the planning conditions for Lower Stumble Flow Testing were discharged by Angus Energy on Monday 10 September, and at that time they gave West Sussex County Council 7 day’s notice that the work to flow test is likely to start week commencing  Monday 17 September.   We have been told that site preparation is currently underway. “

13th September
“Angus Energy have now informed us that they are progressing with site preparation this week, (installing an impermeable bund), and look to progress the actual flow test in the last week of September subject to final sign off by the relevant regulators.”

Only website you need to check is Balcombe Parish Council as they actually have photos of the site....some folk are just too sensitive to pine trees to get closer lol

Because I cannot understand why you would be trying to influence folk into believing they won't start the flow test until the middle of October...which you are stating. Would you be trying to make a profit with the HH Kimmeridge Flow test and then buy into Angus at a lower price by influencing PI's?!?!?

You still haven't answered my question as to how you could possibly know about Angus testing the Kimmeridge at Lidsey before Angus announced it themselves? One should be very careful as that could be classed as insider trading...along with your extremely overhyped flow rate predictions. It certainly appears to have all the signs.

The Minister for Disinformation clearly chooses not to read the published information in the public domain…..Both Angus and Balcombe Parish Council have clearly stated we will be flow testing by the end of Q3.

It’s not a big rig up…we don’t need to perforate and we are not testing multiple zones. I know this must be difficult for you to appreciate after BB (which you will have to sidetrack…again). We are progressing as per the timeline. You never add on 50% because if you do that …then your operations grind to a halt when you work to plan and then discover the important big piece if equipment is not ready as the forecast said in 1 weeks time. You really are just digging a deeper and deeper hole for yourself.

“Angus are still waiting for sign off from regulators (OGA, HSE, the Radioactive permit exists for the site but does need to be transferred). These agencies should sign off quickly. PV estimates that flow testing will start in September, but it will not be a big operation. “

Stick to the Angus timeline….this flow test is a simple rig up…hopefully UKOG haven’t been using the same team they used on the BB flow test…I can appreciate why you expect things to take so much longer lol.

Why are you contradicting official timelines as stated by Angus Energy and Balcombe Parish Council?!?!

If you had any previous experience, then you would know everything has to be planned ahead for traffic management plans and most importantly call offs for the expensive rental equipment (once you send the email stating you require the kit on a certain date...the meter starts)...so everything is meticulously planned to ensure everything runs according to plan.

As I say...should have an update Monday / Tuesday regarding completed site up grades and EA inspection.

Pboo - sigh....it's 1 week for rig up....1 week for 7 day flow test and 1 week for rigging down and demobilising equipment from the site whilst simultaneously monitoring the shut in pressure of the well for a total of 2 months.

Angus have permission for a 7 day well test. You can't compare HH well test to Angus sigh.

You do realise that Balcombe has a slotted liner and does not require perforating like HH?!?! Tick tock....sigh

Pboo - why are you quoting Balcombe Parish councils post, but negate to mention that they listed this on 15th September. To post today that work has started is misleading. And the Council was informed on 13th September that the work on the site upgrades had started....that’s at least 3 days ago. https://balcombeparishcouncil.com It doesn’t take that long to install the membrane and have it prepared, so I would say it will have been completed by Monday ..ready at the earliest for EA inspectors. I think we will see an RNS once the flow test actually starts....still need EA approval for the site upgrades...hopefully get that in the next 2-3 working days.

Surfi - great figures...some things to bear in mind:

Brent is currently $78 a barrel so thats an extra 10% on the numbers calculated. The sanctions on Iran will bite soon and should see oil going higher than current figures.

Angus operating costs are $14 and will lower with more wells added.

Angus have £10 million worth of tax losses to factor in which will also help.

"The Group has incurred indefinitely available tax losses of £10,413,000 (2016: £8,899,000) to carry forward against future taxable income of the subsidiaries in which the losses arose"

moroccoknows - but thats precisely what happened last year without any flow testing.

Angus SP rose from a static 9p to a high of 36p...the SP shot up from 13p to 36p in 1 month. All this without doing any flow tests. Purely sentiment from initially UKOG activity at BB (flow test) and drilling Lidsey after Brockham drove the SP to these highs.

This SP was pre Balcombe acquisition, so now we are in a different league. The potential is enormous. To have 2 wells that could give the company 2,000bopd net is exciting.

So now we have 2 wells drilled and ready to be flow tested. Folk have to consider why is the board suddenly flooded with doom merchants? It's because the wait is finally over and once the EA approval is given (which is a formality after a site visit) then its BOOM time!!!! Everything PI's were waiting for last year is about to come to fruition...its certainly been a long harvest lol
