But it's great news for anyone invested in Angus and indeed the Weald as a whole as we need to feed off each others hopefully positive flow tests. Too much shorters, bad business decisions with placings and NIMBYS causing headaches.

You should follow Balcombe Parish Council updates as their timelines come direct from Angus and they have been bang on the money.

Angus timeline as provided to Balcombe Parish Council has been very accurate, so as per the 13th September update:

“Angus Energy have now informed us that they are progressing with site preparation this week, (installing an impermeable bund), and look to progress the actual flow test in the last week of September subject to final sign off by the relevant regulators.”

Well thats us now entered the last week of September, so it's going to get very exciting now.

Angus are obliged to inform the Parish Council....so if they are quoting these times frames....then yes...it is the time frame we should follow...looooong sigh.

Pboo - sigh....it's 1 week for rig up....1 week for 7 day flow test and 1 week for rigging down and demobilising equipment from the site whilst simultaneously monitoring the shut in pressure of the well for a total of 2 months.

Angus have permission for a 7 day well test. You can't compare HH well test to Angus sigh.

You do realise that Balcombe has a slotted liner and does not require perforating like HH?!?! Tick tock....sigh

ChasPB - one of the uses of coiled tubing (you can actually drill very small diameter wells with it) is to jump start the well and get it to flow by running the 2” diameter pipe all the way to the bottom of your perforation / slotted liner drilled holes and then you pump nitrogen to directly to the bottom and this then lifts and displaces the completion fluid out of the well which intern leaves you with one massive void. The well goes from being over balanced (pressure wise) to underbalanced and then your hydrocarbons find the path of least resistance to reach the surface via the well (like removing a champagne cork).

Olliest - its the flow rates which will be the trigger for an upward movement in the SP...and Balcombe is a 7 day flow test....so information will be released pretty soon.

Now the big difference between what UKOG did in the Upper Kimmeridge at HH back in 2016 and what Angus are going to do at Balcombe is the well angle and the perforation / exposure interval.

Horse Hills’ Upper Kimmeridge Limestone was only perforated for 88ft…..yes thats correct only 88ft of exposure and had stabilised dry oil rate of 901bopd.

Balcombe is a horizontal well and with its slotted liner (pre-drilled holes) is exposed to +/- 1,700ft of Upper Kimmeridge Limestone. That’s 19 times more exposure than at Horse Hill who observed 901bopd from only 88ft.

This will be the Wealds FIRST horizontal flow test of the Kimmeridge Limestone.

I watched it all and I can never get that 45 minutes back. A discredited person who doesn’t have a clue how you can drill and stay within a 33m bed. The video is all about the States and faults..... Let’s talk flowing Balcombe this week....you’ll hate that lol
