they do a bit more than that. unsure if novacyt are using them just for dealing with investor queries or perhaps they are using some of their other services. They might be able to introduce more business for them.

we are all waiting on confirmation of extension to the current DHSC contracts. Unsure if that will be extension of phase 1 or announcement of phase 2. I fully expected this to have been announced by now so it is worrying that it hasn't however it could also mean that a new contract (bigger) is being drawn up. glass half full or half empty really.

If you test positive on day 2 then no further test required. If NOT positive on day 2 then you need a further test on day 8. it is assumed the quarantine will deal with a day 2 positive test.

Sadly, like you have said some people believe this is the solution to their COVID risk which in time will deal with the nations COVID risk.
I have noticed recently that the narrative has been changing slightly. Starting to hear more scientists refer to reduced risk of serious illness and death.
Its vitally important we have success on this front not just to cut down on the deaths and seriously ill but to allow basic social lifes to resume. Too many people suffering as a consequence of the restrictions.
What i'd love to see is the government coming out and saying here is our plan on living and dealing with COVID over the next 5 years. Best and worst case scenarios with clear guidelines on how they are going to safe guard peoples safety while allowing them to lead as normal a life as possible. I'd also like to see them show this COVID response spend as a speculate to accumulate requirement to safeguard the economy.
I personally don't see how we can get a handle on infections, keep a handle on infections while allowing social lifes to resume and the economy to flourish without mass testing and COVID surveillance programs.

Great news like that would change the sentiment very quickly. PIs who are shorting would close positions faster than you can say "is the market open" and they would probably open up positions to ride the rise. We'd also lose a number of disruptive posters

Their tweets do come across as being cryptic sometimes and people in the past have latched onto them. In some cases this has led to 2+ 2 = 5437643843
What you see now is each tweet has lots of comments asking about contract news and what's happening to the share price.
Who is their intended audience with these tweets? Is it just shareholders? If they are genuinely trying to communicate with customers current or new I can't help thinking that the comments are counter intuitive to the message.
I think they need to re-think their communication strategies.

the current vaccines were developed prior to the new variants being in transmission. now that they are there is an opportunity to create further vaccines which may be effective against all known strains or most of them. this I would guess would be cyclic similar to flu vaccines.
The requirement to sequence this virus and respond is vital.

i think the fear is if the vaccine(s) are indeed less effective on the SA variant. They are trying to ensure they get and keep a handle on this variant.
You are of course correct. Why wasn't this approach used in the summer. You can also argue why wasn't this approach used at any point. They should be doing this for any area they feel is getting out of control regardless of the variant
