The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Yrabs: recent is relative. "i recently had my haircut", that would imply within the past few weeks to most people. "the recent presidential election"...that would imply 5-12 months ago, "the most recent world war"...
excitement and uncertainty almost always go hand in hand...sporting events, lottery tickets, opening a present.
just because something is likely to happen soon doesn't make it any more certain to actually happen. i've asked for a new bike for my birthday. if that is next week or in 11 months it doesn't necessarily change the chance of it happening.
but i take your point
off out to watch Mr Bull...he's back
Misty: my love muffin of gorgeousness....his (presumption there i must admit) loss was clearly a lot larger than he was comfortable with given his response to said loss......he's obviously quite upset by it...hence the rants against management and the company.
off out for the school pickup and to test out Mr Bull's work
Misty: my lovely ball of deliciousness. why presumptuous? Aiming posted when he bought in, just before the capital raise, at about 6p. He then posted when he sold in the low 4s.....so he made a loss. he told us so.
I do feel for his loss, I wouldn't want anyone to lose money, that would just be weird.
ps. if you're going to the effort of putting a comma after presumptuous there should also be one after sarcastic as well.
off out to enjoy the silence now that Mr Bull has finished.
Aiming: rule #1 when "investing" on aim...don't put up more than you can afford to lose.
I truly feel for your loss, but we al l have to take responsibility for our own actions
off out to watch Mr Bull dig up the road outside my house
Misty: you seem to get quite upset with what Fowler does.....
off out to collect the kids from school
Surely everyone sees in house brokers for what they are...a mouth piece of the company? ....and thus their forecasts can be taken with oodles of salt.
off out to do the school run
very odd, link doesn't work and neither does my original source....maybe taken down.
off out to see if it pops up again later

off out to wait for the fireworks
John, this investment has really hit you hard hasn't it? i appreciate that you bought in just before the capital raise, but many others here have much higher averages than your 6p. You need patience...some of us are pushing on for 9 + years, rather than 4+ months.
Take a break, enjoy Drax and your other investments.
off out to the butcher
Dac also posts a lot like DHC: i.e. mainly on WSG without being invested, a few nibbles on CINE, and has been a member since mid August when DHC got banned.
Off out as to watch the masked singer
Got a Philpot feel about it
off out to lament the downfall of the once great DHC***
Debt bad, no debt worse as it could lead to debt???
off out to consider changing my name
Meddler - when the SP was 8p, the market cap was the same as now...there were 160m shares vs 285m now
off out to wait for the next update
Silver: best of luck to you. i personally think you may regret it, but then I'd have thought that for the last 2 years and i'd have been very wrong.
I sincerely hope your new investment does you well.
Off out to move a couple of tones of sand and bark
yrabs: sand and bark for a kids' play area
Dac: i disagree that scanner sales are material by the nature that this is what WSG does. if anything, it makes smaller sales less material as one would expect these sales to be going on in the background, so no need to inform the market through an RNS. ps. loving the use of "news" as a transitive verb
off out as i forgot to get a shovel with it
Dac: they don't report every single sale.it clearly wasn't material enough to RNS so it will have been in the pile of sales that we don't hear specifically about.
off out to buy a wheel barrow
yrabs: Jan 17: 87.108m
off out to enjoy the evening
Misty: call me mental, but i hope he's true to his word this time....i guess we have different hopes for our investments here.
Off out to tidy to shed
Hey hoof. Glad to hear you’re happier. Shares should never have such a grip over you that they make you so sad.
Good to hear you’ve made some money. Not sure about your maths..... if you bought in the 70s and 80s then selling at sub 5p means you made a huge % loss (your average must have been in the 20s at best). So doubling can’t have got you near profit. But don’t let facts get in the way of good “f*** you later” goodbye message.
Genuine luck to you sir. I honestly mean that. I’m happy enough to have good wishes for fellow humans.
Off out get a grip and buy a mirror for H&N.
I'm with Phil....until ALB tells me he's closed his shorts i'm not believing anything from anyone....he has those amazing "city" contacts you know.
off out to see how my Intu investment is doing.
