Who is going to stop them? Well, Mologic might have done if they had pursued their court case, but they were conveniently silenced. At the time, we were all congratulating AS on playing a blinder and keeping his nose clean, thus allowing for the possibility of bringing home the sovereign test. Now that that ship has sailed, we should urge Avacta to threaten to sue HMG and bring their cronyism and PD’s ineptitude to light.

Prioritising Avacta is obviously not considered to be ‘in the interests of public health’, meaning that HMG still don’t want an accurate LFT to muddy the message that vaccination is the only way out of this.

Also, as I pointed out recently, the Government’s Winter Plan (A) makes provision for the continued use of free LFTs (a scenario that AS said would not be worth selling into, and “Plan B” is all about vaccine passports. I don’t really know why anyone is surprised at this news.
