At least Mologic had the courage to speak out about the flawed processes, Gov stalling and preferential treatment of Chinese tests. They were even threatening court action until they were conveniently nobbled. Now that really could have put a spanner in the works.

The propaganda machine is still working on rehabilitating the damaged reputation of lateral flow tests.

Institutional Investors managing tracker funds are judged by their ability to mimic an index. It stands to reason that if Avacta is dropped from the MSCI small cap index, there could be selling from small cap funds that don’t have authority to hold micro caps.

AVCT, GGP and EUA were all promoted to the MSCI Small Cap Index at the same time. It is considered a mark of the maturity of a company and was much celebrated at the time. I noted the announcement timings on the EUA board and posted here for info. That’s all.

Like I said, it’s all relative. Other current micro-cap companies may have overtaken us.

Robby, these indices are based on market cap, and ours has halved since the last review in May.
Index tracker funds mimick the index, so if Avacta falls out of small cap, there will be selling.
On the plus side, market cap is pretty much where it was a year ago when we first entered the index. But it’s all relative.

Sorry, I meant to say LFTs not a requirement. They are always an option of course.

Due to be announced today apparently with effective date Dec 1st. If Avacta slips off the list, there may be some forced institutional selling.

Government Winter Plan A involves continuing use of free LFTs, thereby narrowing market opportunity for paid tests.
Government Winter Plan B (unless it deviates from the consultation document) will hinge on a Scottish style vaccination passport with LFTs not being an option. I agree that this is incredibly bad science, given the evidence that the vax doesn’t stop spread, but that’s our incompetent Govt for you.
