Brilliant. Over the past 2 years, we have read similar reports about the Covid-blocking properties of mouth wash and anti-viral nasal spray (amongst others). Not to mention the potential of highly accurate lateral flow tests to identify the truly infectious people actively spreading the disease. Amazing how all of these potential low-cost solutions have fallen by the wayside in favour of slavishly lining the pockets of big pharma and their so-called vaccines which are demonstrably failing to stop the spread.

If there’s no longer any prospect of a U.K. Gov contract, we have nothing to lose from a bit of PR a calling upon the Gov to obtain Omicron samples and distribute then to U.K. diagnostics industry. Why can’t Sir Al directly call upon Javid to supply samples that would allow them to cook up accurate affimers in a matter of weeks?

BITL, again I refer you to AVCT update of June 21. When referring to AffiDX, AS states:

“No cross reactivity of Affimer® reagent with [other common coronaviruses such as] MERS-CoV S1, HCoV-229E S1, HCoV-HKU1 S1, HCoV-NL63 S1 or HCoV-OC43 S1”

To me, it suggests that other (lesser eg Chinese) tests can’t differentiate.

Would further suggest that this means they are picking up on any old coronavirus, unlike Avacta’s incredibly specific test.
