Oh dear, this BB seems a bit deflated with GB on holiday. In the scheme of things, are you really going to notice the share consolidation when Deepverge’s role in the Covid eradication plan is revealed and the share bags. Personally, I don’t think Moonshot can be a success without the technology that SKIN, MWG and Avacta have developed. I find that it’s always interesting to view the below the line comments on such articles where there is usually a much better-informed member of the medical community to take the journalist to task for spreading scientific fake news.

From below the line, I have learned about the anamnestic response, whereby the body retains a ‘memory’ of antibodies and can reproduce them at speed to fight off further infection.

It’s interesting to read the below-the line comments from the medical community who state that the article is scare-mongering and the British public is being fed non-science. Antibodies will inevitably decrease over time, but the body retains a ‘memory’ of them and, due to something called the anamnestic response, can use that memory to produce new antibodies super-fast to fight new infections.

It seems that our SP momentum is now being driven less by fear of missing out on regulatory news and more by fear of not being fully invested when the general public put 2 and 2 together - based on media articles or gov announcements - and come up with the name Avacta.

You’d have a problem convincing my 82 year old parents that they needed smartphones to participate in all this. Nor do they want anyone turning up on their doorstep to test them. Perhaps testing at GP surgery or pharmacy is the way forward for geriatric technophobes?

And here is the FT reporting on today’s newcomers to saliva testing. I now think that Avacta’s PR agency is being paid to hide them! I have tried googling all sorts of combinations of the words saliva/pregnancy style/home/lateral flow test/rapid/antigen and Avacta never appears in the results. What is the opposite of search engine optimisation?

Of course the whole exercise of mass testing any population is pointless unless borders can be secured. That will mean much stricter enforcement of quarantine for people arriving here or condoning off regions where an outbreak has been identified, with no entry or exit permitted until the virus is eradicated (Wuhan style).
