It will be interesting to observe what happens over at BRH after their positive RNS today. Achieving proof of concept for their rapid test must be the equivalent of Avacta’s proving- back in May - the effectiveness of affimers in detecting Covid. Think how many months to go before validation, production, etc.

It will also be interesting to see whether being part of Condor/Falcon is a help or a hindrance in this process.

Indeed. Covid will be “Boris’s war“. How delightful for him to be able to recount how all the world took him for a bumbling idiot throughout the crisis, when all the time, in the background, he was secretly facilitating the world-beating Moonshot test solution to the problem -as he originally promised! A bit like Prince Hal in Henry IV part I he will “throw off his loose behaviour” and “break through the foul and ugly mists that did seem to strangle him” to emerge all the more glorious. A while back, we discussed whether Avacta’s work was considered a matter of national security and hence the radio silence. Yesterday, Ken McCallum, the new DG of MI5 discussed current threats to U.K. security in a speech to journalists. Given the potential that we all recognise for Avacta’s Moonshot test to unlock our economy and make us “the envy of less happier nations” it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that there is indeed a media black out on this matter.
