The MMs are filling institutional buy orders by tree-shaking weaker PIs. They demoralise them by keeping the price depressed all day, marking buys as sells and all the while accumulating for the big buyers. BlackRock have added 1.5 million Avacta shares to three of their funds since Dec 1st - and that's just a passive fund manager. Active fund managers will also be taking positions.

Sorry to be dim here JT, but when you say we are ‘forward sold’ is this something different/more urgent for the MMs than the previous accumulation we have been seeing?

I think this is a familiar pattern for shares that have just joined the MSCI Global Small Cap Index. First of all, the passive funds needed to buy in by Dec 1st - given their objective of replicating the index. I think what is happening now is that the active managers are taking positions in stocks they believe will give them alpha (returns above the index performance). Obviously these big background institutional buys are a sign that the professional analysts and investors have faith in Avacta’s prospects.

Have you heard anything? I would imagine that they should be testing vaccine recipients to ensure that anyone who has Covid at the same time is -at the very least - identified as such. Or are they convinced that there will be no additional risk?
