Roly, it has been said many times over that conversations on bulletin boards do not have the power to move the share price, therefore I would argue that the rise we are seeing is due to the following factors:

- Discerning institutional investors buying at what they see as an attractive risk/reward ratio
- Increasing recognition that vaccination will not be the silver bullet that kills off this pandemic and a huge opportunity is still available for a high quality self-administered antigen test such as Avacta is developing
- Increasing recognition that Avacta’s oncology therapeutics platform could also reap phenomenal rewards longer term.

I just don’t understand why anyone entertained the Tony Bliar guidance on vaccine dosage. Since when was he a leading scientist specialising in immunology? Oh wait, maybe it dates back to the time when we were at peak controversy over the MMR jab and he and Cherie refused to confirm or deny whether baby Leo had had the combined jab or separate doses. Simon Calder (travel writer for The Independent) has just been interviewed on Talk Radio. They have been briefed to expect an announcement about testing at U.K. borders. So it will be about testing but may be quite limited.

Apparently he is going to talk about need for PCR test for people coming into U.K. by air.

The good thing is that it highlights EUA as an ESG-‘friendly’ investment. Mining and exploration is a notoriously difficult sector to squeeze into an ESG agenda due to human rights concerns and pollution (eg from tailings). This will definitely pique the interest of other active fund managers.

Nice rise on low volume could be background buying by the IIs. Don’t forget this new climate fund which is selecting only 20 stocks ... including AVACTA.
