At the end of WW2, the USA persuaded other powers to accept the USD as global reserve currency on the basis that they would never print more money than could be backed by the gold reserves held at Fort Knox. Many years of QE has put paid to that. It has been rumoured for some time that China would like a rething about which currency should be the global reserve. I am reminded of the dystopian novel "The Mandibles" by Lionel Shriver in which (strangely enough) the BRICS economies club together to launch a new currency called the 'bancor' to replace the USD. The novel is well worth a read. Increasingly feels as prescient as Orwell's 1984.

Have we been participants in FINANCIAL WARFARE over the last couple of years? Almost certainly. If you're not participating in the markets via Blackrock or Vanguard, then you are holding assets directly that they want for themselves. Hence the manipulation and trading ranges. My big worry is that they are planning a cyber attack that wipes out all middle class wealth altogether.

Not only did they not mention the sale, they said that their strategy was M&A. Am I wrong in thinking that this is a new description of the overall strategy?
