The DE is (at the time I write) in Peterhead harbour. However I suspect that if someone responsible of the crew has already punched the next destination into the AIS, she probably won't be there for long. Crewchange, stocking-up of food and fuel, and off to work for 'us'.

Nice to see. The SURF installation work involves both Normand Vision and Deep Explorer. It's been interesting seeing the NV doing lots of to-and fro's between the field and Nigg, with all sorts of different stuff on deck, some photos of which some of us have seen. But what exactly she's been doing out there I don't know: I have no expert inside knowledge of such operations ongoing.

But everything appears to be going as per timetable, which is the important thing. And it's serious stuff.

Just one Oceaneering ROV (onboard and in use on the NV) costs more than a new Porsche... And SURF installation will cost more than the house whose mortgage the usual 'ramper / deramper' trader idiots posting on this BB would like to eventually pay off, having over-leveraged themselves to start with.

Yes, it certainly can do. There are other ways to produce very big flares, 'cheating methods'. But that makes a lot of assumptions. The first one being that a company wants to fraudulantly portray they've got something bigger than is true, which would be a criminal act, of course. Secondly, they'd have to assume everyone involved could keep their mouths shut. Thirdly, they'd be assuming their investors were just looking at a picture of a flare to deduce whether their money was in the right place! All of which is absurd, and can't apply to Lundin at all.

I know the photo you're referring to, have studied it closely, and can confirm that the rig is the COSL Innovator, the one Lundin is using on the Rolvsnes Luno III well. And the size of the flare indicates a nice 'find'.

The world is now plagued with the idea of 'fake news', not helped by the fact that yes, there's a lot of it about, and also that the POTUS is obsessed with it, especially when the news is in fact true. But I'm a poker player ( live cash tables, not online tournaments) and from bitter experience in the distant past I learned that nine times out of ten, if someone bets representing they've 'made their hand', they're NOT bluffing.

With due respect, I beg to differ with you on this. Already, and from past experience with AIM-listed O&G shares, equating possible NPV to potential SP is not a terribly wise thing to do. But more importantly, RBD is invested in Corallian. RBD is not drilling the wells. So success (or lack of it) at Wick and Colter might affect Corallian's 'value', and thereby our own. But I don't think there will necessarily be any sort of linear corrolation related to the resource value of such 'finds' themselves. S&S are not 'oil finders', we're investing in their company on the basis of them identifying good 'oil finders'.

Precisely. Furthermore it's not as though the well is a rank wildcat. Quite honestly I just cannot understand those posters who get so worried about Wick, or the drilling sequence which puts it ahead of Colter. If they lose sleep worrying that the well might turn out to be a dry hole they should be investing in frozen pizza instead, because O&G is obviously the wrong place for them.

Yes, me too. Except a rather special kind of 'fund'. Personally I avoid such things like the plague. But S&S are focussed on a particular segment of O&G, and O&G's my 'thing', because I understand it. And they're buying into things where otherwise as a PI I might not get a look-in. So essentially it's a case of letting those two smart young guys do the legwork, investing in that, and hopefully there will be a mutually beneficial result. They're making no pretenses about it: they're only in it for the money. They're not oilmen wanting to become the chairman of a new BP next week. But that works for me as an investor, as well! Because I too am only in it for the money.

Yup. Of bl**y course. Including far-reach (way longer than Lancaster) 'intelligent' completions, one which still holds a world record for multiple-zone selectable gravel-pack (for Agip, in the Adriatic), etc., etc., until the cows come home.

Though I do admit to never having been involved with a dual-ESP setup like wot's down Hurricane's wells. But I've done my research, and understand them. And having understood them now know why no flare was seen when the PBLJ was out there doing the job.

'Missdosh' had absolutely nothing to apologise for. And I believe she only interjected due to unwarrented pressure and innuendo being cast by some rather unpleasant individuals currently throwing their weight about on this BB and generally spoiling the place as a good board for genuine exchange of information.

(My suspicion being they're frantically trying to cover some sort of spread-bet or short position and are getting real antsy because the SP won't go down to 46p, despite their efforts, but that's personal opinion and should be taken with a gritter-lorryload full of salt.)

I had seen the photo in question a couple of days before anyone else here did. The link was then posted by my 'informant' (and 'confidante') on a private website. So various people had the chance to see it, and analyse it. And amongst that 'select group' of genuine investors, there was a consensus that none of us would post the link 'down here'.

It appeared here a couple of days later. Posted by nobody regular who is recognised as one of that odd band collectively known as 'the shipwatchers'.

However 'Instagram' is an open-source 'social' thing which can be accessed by almost anyone worldwide. So the plain truth is that someone else found it, and chose to publish the link here. Which was a mistake, in my opinion.

The bottom line is that HUR shares are not the exclusive property nor interest of those who have the time to spare (or waste) posting on this LSE BB.

I appreciate that this is completely off-topic, and nothing to do with RBD. But I know the Highland Endurance! One heck of a vessel.

Took the Trident IV on tow for Petro-Canada in 2006 from Ravenna (Italy) down to off Djerba (Tunisia). We had two boats, but it was decided to just do single-line with the other running alongside riding shotgun. And made a cracking pace, despite hitting bad weather at one point in the southern Adriatic. Seven knots!

Interesting! And I've done a bit of searching, but can't find which well it's for. Strange. Quite possibly nothing to do with Wick nor Colter, so nothing to do with 'us'.

But it's really good to see that there are some people on this BB keeping an eye on the nuts and bolts of things. I count Chrishutch and SelfishMcNimby (as well as obviously yourself) as part of such a 'gang'.

True, RDB are not 'operator' of any of the wells they've indirectly bought into. But seeing pictures of the 'iron' is always nice.

The reason I don't think that the Ensco 72 is 'our' rig is because Corallian haven't made any mention of Petrofac being involved in their operations. So my thought is that maybe the rig's going out of the UK. Another correspondent (Yuyus) who lives local to Teeside where the rig has been stacked noticed (and posted here) that there was some activity looking like 'readying for move'. But nevertheless, my money remains on the 101!

Not that it makes a blind bit of difference what rig does the work. EXCEPT, over on another BB (won't mention the ticker name), there's a crowd generally known as 'shipwatchers' In fact the CFO mentioned us once in public as 'lunatic shipwatchers', and more recently the CEO as 'the boatwatchers'. And we know (as that company is 'operator') what's going on regarding rigs, supply-boats, etc., and have sometimes got the jump on an RNS!

It's great fun.

And far more interesting and useful than speculating what might have happened if our two CEO's had decided to seek private funding rather than public. For the simple reason that had they gone private, this BB wouldn't even exist, so the doom-an' gloomers wouldn't be able to post on it...
