"As always, patience." (Quoth Wessexmario)
Of course, because really we have no choice, do we?
Also, whatever has been the 'issue' (how I hate that euphamistic word except when applied to newspaper publishing) over the last 48 hours, it's Bluewater's problem, not Hurricane's. Except in terms of PR. Because yesterday's show looked like amateur hour on a slow Tuesday afternoon.
The point being this. A couple of years ago, during a presentation he was giving in London, the CFO made reference to 'lunatic shipwatchers', which raised a laugh from the audience, but also gave some 'lunatic shipwatchers' (I'm one of them) a warm feeling because at last our presence had been acknowleged, albeit in disparaging terms. But the thing is, I'm personally just a little PI whose investment is probably worth less than what it costs to run the FPSO for a day, and if I can voluntarily be watching what my money's doing out on the high seas, I'm certain the people who assisted in a half-billion fundraise will certainly be paying some poor bloke to sit at a desk and do so, as well.
Yesterday's antics by Bluewater were simply a Bad Show. Someone was asleep at the wheel. Drifting around the 'oggin like a drunk driver on the motorway talking on his mobile phone isn't good enough. Nor is having HM Admiralty issue a maritime warning that the FPSO was 'installed' at least four hours before the boat was even over the buoy location. Because all this stuff is Public Domain knowledge, for those taking the slightest bit of interest. And personally, I do take an interest in what my money's doing.
Someone deserves a rocket up their arse, preferably one of those made by the bloke with the bad haircut in North Korea. What I saw yesterday on the AIS didn't make worried as such, but instead somewhat cross, and around five pm wide-eyed in disbelief. Except it happened. Hurricane would be doing themselves a favour by issuing an RNS to reassure people that they have some control over Operations at present, and maybe Bluewater should consider giving the boat's skipper a spot of leave, 'cos he obviously needs it.
