JoeBass,
"Always dyor, these individuals are both reckless and dangerous to follow."
Now you're making things personal as regards SIPPn00B, which I think is uncalled-for, and thus degrades your own opinion in the eyes of others. Because the first bit about 'always dyor' is primordial, and anyone who doesn't do that is guaranteed to lose money.
But I'd like to add another bit. 'Follow your own instincts'. That's not a bad idea, either.
In October, for some still incomprehensible reason (or at least I still don't understand it), the SP went north of 55p. And then degraded steadily downwards, hitting almost 37.
Now I'm an LTH here, but occasionally 'trade' when I see an opportunity. Kicked myself for seeing that 55+p as a selling opportunity. But I didn't. But the low was dam obvious and just as inexplicable. But I wasn't going to miss that! So shook the (depleted) piggy-bank, and made a small top-up at 38.5, knowing it just COULDN'T stay that way too long. With a resolve to sell that top-up at 45p, without touching my 'main holding'.
Held steady the last few days, gritting my teeth. 'Shipwatched' yesterday once the boat headed north. Imagine my delight today seeing the SP just over 47. Straight onto the 'net, sold my topup for 47.3, before even on my second cup of coffee.
Sure, the SP might skyrocket on the 'hookup RNS', but there again it might go the other way. No regrets, either way.
Easiest couple of grand (or so) I've made in my life. So I'm having a glass of wine to celebrate.
Of course, I'm just an out-to-pasture destitute old oilman, and a poster here had the temerity the other day of libelously accusing me of being an alcoholic and a 'hopeless gambler'. So don't take this as any sort of advice.
But sometimes you CAN beat the 'pros' (or the computers they program) at their own game.
IF you 'dyor' and follow your instincts.
