Quite the contrary. My Vietnamese friend and his wife who run the restaurant are friends who I love deeply and dearly. And trust entirely. Without them and their friendship, I reckon I'd probably be pushing up daisies by now.

Plus there's absolutely nothing 'shady' about owing someone a grand when it comes to poker. The dam cash-machine in the casino at Lloret didn't recognise my card for what it was, I found myself behind, so asked my friend to loan me a thousand, which he did without question, so I could continue playing.

And he had to get back to Niort a few days before me (having his restaurant to run), so I couldn't pay him back the next day.

But did so as soon as I got home.

'Normal behaviour'.

BTW, read more of the lyrics to that song.... All rather dark sort of stuff, it's true. But (as a caver) I'm not afraid of dark places. But also notice the way they seague into 'Not Fade Away', an ancient old Buddy Holly song. Even if the light at the end of the tunnel might just be the spotlight of an oncoming train coming in the other direction on the same track, we're still alive for now, aren't we?

PS: Check out (if possible) an album called 'Last ticket to Iona' (capital 'I', not an 'L') by a band called Cuckoo. Keyboard player was at the time 32nd in line to the Throne of England (and I'm not talking lavatories). Played a Hammond B3. The roadies' second- worst hated instrument to cart around. No. Though I believe some maniacs do so Stateside.

Nevertheless, the organisers of the circuit I'll be next weekend did a 'caravan-race' seven years ago. With all the truckracers having bought an old banger from the scrapheap, souped it up, and dragging a caravan behind. And it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Needless to say, the caravans ended up being demolished, some of the cars as well, and there was a huge party afterwards, where a lot of alcohol was consumed.

And adoubleuk still has a scar on his forehead caused by a bit of caravan having hit him. But I was laughing so much at the entire ludicrous spectacle that I didn't even notice I'd been injured. Until I saw my camera-lens had turned red...

No, I'm not one of the 'pilots'. Just the 'official photographer'. Which means I'm trackside, and depending on the circuit involved, sometimes less than a metre away from seven tons of heavy metal going past at about 80 mph! In far greater danger than the drivers. I don't have a roll-cage to protect me. But I do know how to run, and have had to more than once.

But it's what I consider 'fun', and everyone in the paddock knows me, I know them, and it's a sort of 'family'. Which is what counts.

Heck! I don't want to sound sort of 'showing-off' here on this BB.

But I'm heavily involved in truckracing, have gone caving in -500+ metre stuff in the Pyrenees, climbed mountains higher than 3000 metres, drilled oilwells in 21 different countries, play poker against so-called 'professionals', consider 300 miles on the road at 75 mph to be a mere stroll. Plus like women half my age. (Though also one a year older than me !!!!!!!!)

It's why I get annoyed about people on this BB who start whimpering about 'risk'.

They don't know what the word implies, let alone means (like seeing the wrong end of a machine-gun in Libya). And worst of all, they don't know the enjoyment that risk can involve.

Yes, correct.

From about three years ago. But doing so cost me a heck a lot of time and work staring at my computer-screen, telephone calls to my bank, reading books about share-trading, and is not something I'd want nor intend to repeat.

And all that for the simple reason that I'm an 'oilfield professional', know a good thing when I see one, plus had gone through a divorce where my 'Ex' (like Zaza Gabor) was a 'good housekeper'!

I give no advice to people 'getting in now'. I'm not sure about all the 'brokers' quotes' one sees, and so on. But gut-feeling remains. Personally, I may have to 'topslice' soon, just to pay for my diesel. But the dreams of far greater profits by others might not be incorrect.

I don't really know, and wouldn't even try starting to offer financial advice to others.

But I do know a good oilfield when someone drills into it. And I've seen the seismic and read the logs.

Thanks for the info. But I'm an incrdibly paranoid person, and don't 'click on links' willy-nilly. Even if I may post some, but they're harmless (I think) things about music.

Yes, I've heard of VPN, have researched it a bit, and so on. And 80 quid a year sign-in is peanuts. But I value my 'security' and don't trust any of that stuff. Sure, I'd like access to the so-called 'dark web', but let's face it, if I want to buy some heroin, I just have to ask the young hooker who lives down the street from me.

And anyway, I don't want to buy any heroin.

Plus also I can live without access to the BBC. I do have Amazon Prime, so can watch Clarkson and Co at leisure. Why the heck would I want to watch UK state-sponsored (and controlled) television, anyway? I've got far more interesting things to waste my money and time on.

The only reason I won't be at Hurricane's AGM next week (much as I I adore flying into London City airport) is because I've got a 'camioncross' meeting to attend, which coincides, in Brittany. And those people are 'family', of which I'm a part, not a simple 'shareholder'. Good and exceedingly valuable friends, in other words.

Yes, I did, and thank you for it. Except as I live in France, for some reason I can't access BBC videos. However, I know the crew doing what they're doing, and am being updated on it on a weekly basis via email, on the occasions that email is working in Mexico.

And although I realise that many people may consider cave-diving to be 'scary', the point is that one doesn't have time to get 'scared'. Frequently a bit frightened, maybe. But not 'scared'. Otherwise you die.

But that's not anything to be scared about anyway, 'cos it'll happen to all of us.

PS (on that subject) I'm hoping that Reverandy is enjoying his treks in the Picos. And that the weather is better than it was down in Catalonia for me.

The company has given an unequivocal definition of how it defines 'FoiL', and thus (by extrapolation) when an RNS will be released announcing that (price-sensitive) event. It's almost superfluous to mention that hydrocarbons have been flowing into the Aoka Mizu's production-train for a couple of weeks already, and it's safe to assume (I presume) that some of them have not just been gas (burned at the flare), but some oil, as well. Which will have been put into the vessel's storage-tanks, not dumped overboard! So the company's already 'producing'.

It's simply that they're biding their time to give that news to 'the market', which the more I consider it, the more I feel that 'the market' is considerably populated by people with an IQ smaller than their hat size, and probably think that Ninja Turtles actually exist.
