But when a self-publicising smarta** makes an idiot of themselves, mocks the company by (against advice by people who've been posting here for far longer than he) by referring to Dr Trice as 'Dr Rock' and HUR as 'HE', and also suggests the company doesn't know what it's doing and he could plan things better, then I'll mock as much as I like.

I strongly suspect that FS22 is either a student doing a Pet. Eng. degree, or is already a very low-echelon PE already. Knows the lingo, likes showing off.

A way he could redeem himself might be to stop using mathematical signs as abbreviations, learning how to conjugate the verb 'to be', in his posts, and discover the use of the indefinite pronoun.

I've raised this topic before, referring to RBD's issuing of RNS's in comparison with other rather more fly-by night AIM O&G companies (naming no names), but in the light of what you've written, I want to re-iterate my viewpoint.

There will be no reason for ADX to issue premature news. They've said they'll issue weekly updates on Mondays, and they've done so. Personally, as an O&G 'specialist' in the field, I'm impressed by the format of their updates: succinct, devoid of hype, sticking to the facts.

I can almost guarantee (though I have no direct contact with the company) that there will be NO announcement using a Hollywood wild-west phrase such as a 'gas strike'. That's John Wayne stuff, and best reserved for the silver screen.

At the same time, I'll be surprised (given the geology) if Monday's update doesn't mention 'gas shows' while drilling into the targeted formation, assuming no hold-ups. They may even include the word 'encouraging' as a bonus, but that's optional.

Bearing in mind the well's location, it'll be almost impossible NOT to get 'gas shows' while drilling. However these must not be taken as indicative of a well's eventual commercial potentials. These can only be (partially) ascertained after logging, and more to the point after drilling operations are completed, the drilling-rig's been moved out and the little workover / completion / testing rig has come in (as per program), and testing performed.

This is not a 'deramp': I personally have high hopes as a shareholder for the Romanian campaign. But the proof of the pudding is in the tasting (or testing, in our case), not from the nice smells coming from the oven...

The whole idea's absurd. We've had three tanker offloads. If this one was coming to take water (as if an oil-tanker would do such a thing!), it would mean the EPS has suddenly started producing at least 20% water.

The company is legally obliged to issue an RNS for price-sensitive news. It Lancaster had started to produce water like that, it wouldn't just be price-sensitive, it'd be a bloomin' disaster.

I dunno how these people can dream up such daft ideas.

To boil down my (rather lengthy) post, the only point I was trying to make is that I hope that the company is selective in its news-releases, telling us the important stuff, but not overloading us with dross.

Hey! Somehow the first part of my post somehow 'disappeared'! Probably a clumsy keystroke on my part. But I think you'll probably get the gist of the whole message. Not going to write it again...

s for updating us at the next CMD, I think that refers to a technically-detailed update. But before then, there's November-ish, and the interim half-yearly financials. So we should have some dollar figures to work with then.

But once more, the company's actual cash inflow isn't of enormous importance to we PI's, because for years HUR has stated it doesn't intend to issue dividends, and as with many AIM-listed companies, the SP doesn't always give a 'fair' reflection of a company's cash-earning ability, nor the value of the assets involved.

Personally I use far more prosaic things to 'update' my own investment tactics: like whether a flare is seen, or the end-of-well RNS. Of course one can plan such 'tactics' in advance, dependent on the eventual news (as distinct from rumour), but that's something else.

Personally I hope there are not too many RNS's of such a nature. Because they're what I think of as the 'James Parsons approach', he of Sound Energy.

I never invested in SOU, but occasionally looked at it to see what the fuss was about. One time I was astounded to read an RNS stating that casing had been set, about 10 metres above the target 'payzone', and that gas shows had been encountered while drilling. I thought it very misleading, and a few weeks later was proved right when it turned out that the 'payzone' wasn't, and was water-bearing and uncommercial.

Gas shows while drilling are indicators of various things, but require technical oilfield knowledge to interpret, and are NOT a guarantee that the well will be 'good'.

Regarding WN, we know that the well is going into a testing period. It's axiomatic that in order to test, the casing needs to be perforated and assorted hardware installed at surface. So why tell us about such stuff? The important thing is the RESULT of the testing. We don't need to be told every time the test supervisor takes a coffee-break.

RNS's are supposed to be about 'price-sensitive' news. But simply by issuing RNS's on essentially trivial subjects can cause the SP to change, due to excitement on the part of PI's who don't really have technical knowledge, and thus mistakenly reckon that any news is necessarily exciting.

ASX has said thay'll issue weekly updates regarding Parta, and so far, RBD has issued an RNS précis of updates so far. And will probably continue to do so. But I hope there won't be an 'RNS overload'. If you're going to bake a cake, you obviously have to make the cake-mixture first. But we don't want to know when the raisins have been added. And the milk. Etc....
