Welcome to the club! However, the geography is perfectly well known. Water, water, yet more water, extending about 3000 miles to the west until you bump up against Newfoundland. Geology is a different animal, though. And there remain some smart-alecks around who seem to think that the 14,000 bbl/day production to which you allude (so far WITHOUT the use of artificial lift in the form of the dual ESP's installed in each well) might suddenly stop, or turn into water, or something like that.

I may disagree with your political views, but reckon you've made a wise buy, getting into this share while it's (by consensus view) undervalued. (But of course I'd say that, having been 'here' for a number of years now.)

I beg to differ from your viewpoint. What exactly is this 'outside world' to which you refer? One of Jupiter's moons, or something like that?

I personally question the sanity of the current 'leader' of the glorious US of A. The idea of that person jetting around the world with the capacity to unleash nuclear war at the push of a button seems a little bit frightening to me. Or rather, not 'frightening', just daft. If he presses the button, I want to be at ground zero, 'cos I won't feel a thing.

At least Iran's leaders (no more mentally stable, admittedly) are consistent in their madness.

What will really make me grin is if they wait 'til that refinery is 80% back up and running, and they go bomb the place again!

PS I live in France. And have been listening to the radio news while putting another 500 km road-miles under my belt today. And what have our glorious lords and masters this side of the channel announced on the back of the news from the KSA? That fuel prices at the pumps will be increased by 5 centimes, if not Wednesday, then Thursday.

Yeah, right. And exactly how much Saudi heavy crude gets distilled into petrol and diesel, pray?

Picked up on this, but didn't have time to reply, much as I wanted to. It's been a very busy (truckracing) weekend.

The thing being, although you and I often seem to have views in common, I'm afraid we diverge here. In that I completely agree with Beerbull's comment, and don't find it abhorrant whatsoever.

But would like to add, don't keep the nukes just for the cities, but spread 'em around a bit. Vitrifying all that sand would make some rigmoves a lot easier.

Leave Oman and Yemen out of the 'shopping list', though. They're good places, even if the Yemenis can be a bit fierce at times...

I'm not sure I follow your line of reasoning there. Sure, so long as EPS continues nicely chugging along, there's no reason the SP should fall. But why should it rise? It's not as though the company will be paying a dividend based on production profits.

And anyway, revenues are already presumably being earmarked for the 2020 drilling campaign.

Lincoln tieback is a long way in the future, so I don't see how that should be reflected in the SP. What SHOULD (to my mind) be reflected, however, is the firming-up of Lincon as a resource, subsequent to the successful testing. But since when has HUR's SP been based on resource? If it were, we should be looking at a quid already, not a year up the road.

Someone's started selling significantly into the rise over the past hour. Odd, isn't it, the way that happens after something like the Times publishes the latest good news, bringing the company to the attention of potential smalltime buyers?

Really? Maybe some shares do 'gather momentum', but in which direction? PMO is currently trading at 25% of what it was five years ago, and the only 'good news' was about 18 months ago, but it didn't last.

Fortunately HUR isn't in such a sorry state, and people who invested, say, 40 months ago, are showing a paper profit, even if not of the stratospheric sort that various brokers' estimates would have us believe. But I begin to wonder if continued longterm holding isn't maybe waiting for some great event like a hypothetical takeover when that event may yet be years away.

The data from the DST will go a long way towards being able to work out a PI. But it will take a lot more number-crunching during the next few days and weeks for that to be ascertained. So it's not something which will get mentioned in an RNS immediately after testing operations are complete.

That there was an RNS today surprised me, but through some remarkable luck, that's the only thing he's got right so far.

Well done spotting that! In fact the Lincoln well is 28% shorter, while the flow figure is 22% less. So you may have hit a nail bang on its head.

I'm interested in the fact that the Lincoln crude is being quoted as 43 degrees, comepared with the Lancaster 38. Lincoln is lighter. Obviously different 'types' of oil.

No idea if this is significant. Just raises a couple of open-ended questions in my head. 1: Will this discovery maybe help explain existing uncertainties about the enigmatic qualities of whatever was found on Whirlwind? 2: Will the differing crude qualities cause any complications when Lincoln is eventually tied back to the FPSO, assuming that happens?

I've no answers, but maybe an FPSO 'production hand' could answer the second one.

Nope, got the usual wry grin on my face. Can't win 'em all...

Very good RNS. Good well. Lincoln now firmly on the map. I'm glad to see the SP has reacted accordingly, but ask myself whether that will last and find a new 'base', or what? I think things are now coming pretty much to a decision time, or at least, they are for me personally. Sept 20th and the report will be important, I think. But then what further 'milestones' can we expect in the near future? Warwick result (which had better be like this one), and then next CMD, but that's not for months.

Our resident troll, now indirectly identifying himself as a 'reservoir engineer', has told us " HUR have enough info now for RNS."

I know not from where he obtained this information: possibly the dregs of his last cup of tea.

However, and particularly as it may be of interest to newcomers to this share, historically, Hurricane does not release preliminary results of well-testing until such operations have been fully completed, and well supension operations are underway prior to moving the rig.

Personally I don't expect any RNS with DST results tomorrow, and also Hurricane tends to avoid Friday RNS's. Given that the anchor-handling tugs don't come on contract 'til Friday, I don't really expect one then either.

I guess it's too short a timeframe to set up a sweepstake about this, but maybe a worthwhile 'charitable cause' for the winner would be supplying a goodly amount of whatever sort of tablets the aforementioned troll requires to cure whatever's ailing him.
