However, it also points out the attractiveness of the business model and appears only to be concerned about regulation. Fair enough comment in my view. Once we have complied, it's back to business as usual...I hope!

Titan performed a demolition job on the man-child, as did Liberium. It's interesting that boy-wonder didn't reply to Titan's response. There were a number of killer questions posed by Titan, but I specifically liked the one where they asked skateboard kid; if this is a fraud, how are the BoD going to get their hands on the proceeds? The implication being that if they try to dump any stock, the price will collapse, therefore making it impossible to realise their proceeds. This company isn't a fraud. It's so-called accounting irregularities are nothing of the sort. The implication that changing auditor (from one which went bust to the worlds biggest) is in some way indicative of fraud, is just absolute tosh. For sure, the management have not handled this regulatory issue well. It should not have happened and the initial response was poor. And yes, it will have a short-term impact on the UK business. But it will continue to make superb profits and will continue to generate a significant amount of cash.

A sensible note. Specifically, I love the way they have dealt with the alleged accounting 'irregularities' and restatement of revenues in the UK subsidiary. They have completely destroyed the arguments of Alphaville, the man-child and Gotham. They were desperate to find a scandal and due to their own lack of understanding of accounting regulations, made a complete balls-up of their analysis. It would be nice to have an apology, wouldn't it? BTW, this is the second time someone has ballsed-up with regard to a change of auditor and Baker Tilley/Tenon. Gotham made the same argument about QPP, without bothering to understand that Tenon went bust and was rescued by BT, with the result that many clients changed auditors (that was just about the only thing Gotham got wrong about QPP) So, now we know that the company has only one issue and it's dealing with it as fast as it can. In the meantime, the company is still trading profitably and threw up $4m free cash flow in the last two weeks. Hardly a basket case, is it?

Blackrock and Axa were obviously the ii's taking up some of the vendor placing shares. I would guess we'll see some more institutions appearing on the register soon. Am I correct in thinking Close PE have sold out entirely? I hope so...there's nothing worse than having a private equity vendor creating an overhang in the market.

Blackrock are buying...so will a number of other ii's in my opinion. Andrew Leaver has obviously been a consistent seller,but those shares are being absorbed by the market with ease.

hovered around this share from about £5 when I heard Mark Slater recommend it, but delayed buying...much to my regret. However, I have just bought in today. The acquisition makes this a fascinating story and a good long term hold.

Sphere Medical. There was also a 19m buy today in Oxford Pharma...probably us as well. There will have been a pipeline of deals which should start appearing in the coming weeks.

couldn't agree more ra757. Before anyone invests here, they really need to understand the nature of the companies in which we will invest. They are long term plays. It is also possible that we will trade at a discount to NAV for some time. This is in my SIPP and will be there until retirement day.

Several reports in the press over the weekend that ALD is a takeover target. It may not have a long life as an independent business.

I agree and have bought a load for my SIPP. The bank offers interesting long term potential. I have no doubt there are very ambitious plans to roll-out the formula and frankly, they are pushing at an open door with SME owners, who have been so thoroughly let down by our useless High Street banks. I don't expect much action on this bb though!

got any clues as what action to take? I don't want Ball shares, so I assume this means I'll be able to sell them immediately on issue? Does anyone else think a competing bid will appear?

I was not invested here, but was following events due to the fact that I know Graham Hossie, although I haven't seen him for some years. What I can tell you is that he's a decent and honest bloke and it is hardly his fault that events conspired against the company. He had far more riding on this than did anyone else and has lost a fortune. Do you seriously think he wanted that? The fact that people chose to trade AFTER the company had announced there was no value in the business, is a reflection on the idiots that did it, not the management.
