I've just closed the trading account in which I held these shares. As the value of my holding in this POS was less than dealing costs, I was not able to sell them. Therefore, they have been donated to charity. I wish them well.

They appear to have reduced again this week. Why anyone would short this stock, given the many, many better opportunities elsewhere, is beyond me. It's not as if the recent results showed any signs of weakness.

I can only assume that the shorters thought the integration wouldn't work. Seems they were wrong.

Stockdale, please feel free to carry on with your ill-informed, delusional nonsense. Perhaps one day you'll understand the rules that govern the stock market.

Stockdale, do you understand the concept of Directors creating a false market? This is not some theoretical phrase, it has a straightforward legal implication...in other words, it's illegal to do it. By gilding the lily with the sort of announcement you would have preferred, should the company fail to deliver any value to shareholders, they could easily be accused of creating a false market and thus found themselves in front of the beak. Their's was a responsible and necessary statement and if I were you, I'd get used to it. In fact, you should be praising them for telling the truth. I'm afraid to say that the fact you chose to buy, is more a reflection upon you rather than the BoD.

Stockdale, I agree that many shareholders will very annoyed, but just to reiterate, legal responsibility demands that the announcement was made in these terms. BTW, shareholders have not been funding this company, the various debt holders have. I'm not sure I need to tell you this, but you bought shares from another holder...the company didn't see a penny of your money...surely you understand this basic fact? As for the fact that 96 people bought shares...I'm afraid that simply demonstrates the gullibility of certain pi's. It's as if they can't actually read what a BOD tells them. It couldn't be clearer and anyone who bought after the announcement and subsequently complains that they lost money, deserves not one ounce of sympathy.

Yes he does. It's his legal responsibility to do so...although frankly, if shareholders don't understand where they stand in the rankings, they shouldn't be shareholders in any public company. There is no encouragement to be had...the game's over.

Stockdale, did you really write that? The CEO has a fiduciary duty to publish what is happening with the company. He can't hide the truth FFS! Would you prefer it if he'd lied? Shareholders who ignore what he's saying are exactly the same as the people who ignored what was said at London Mining, AFREN and Petroceltic, to name just a few. The game is over. If you can sell your shares, do so.

First_Timer, Ok...you're crazy. I suggest you read what the BOD actually says..."little or no value for shareholders". You can interpret that as being 'no value'. Afraid to say you've just wasted your money.

Looks like JPM have closed their short completely. Maybe explains the rise over the past two days. BlackRock still at 0.7%. BTW Panama, you're quite right...my nerves got the better of me.

dabillsam, I'm fully aware of what may or may not be stated in such a response. However, there are good and bad ways to do it. I'm afraid to say, the response I received was lamentably poor. However, my main concern is really about the issue of the short positions. I've been around long enough to think that when two investors such as BlackRock and JPM take out a short, they are doing so based upon more than a general feeling that something is over-valued. Notwithstanding the loss I took on my latest trade, I've made good money on this share and I genuinely hope it recovers. In fact, now that I've sold, it is almost a racing certainty.

that's me done. Have sold out this morning. Two bits of good news recently have failed to improve matters. I didn't like the non-response to my email from the IR guy and specifically, I don't like the fact that Black Rock and JPM have opened shorts. I really do wonder if things are not progressing as well as hoped and the shorters have got wind of this. Anyway, it will probably jump back up again now that I've sold. I've always liked this company and believe in its future, but I want a better idea of current trading before I re-buy.

Keep your hands in your pockets. The recent commodities rise has got ahead of itself. Plenty of scope for this to fall further.

I decided to send an email to the Investor Relations lad at the company requesting a comment upon our recent ghastly sp decline. I also made an observation about the short positions being occupied by Black Rock and J P Morgan. I know what the rules are and was not expecting anything interesting, but I was expecting something a little more fulsome that what I actually received in reply. In essence, it simply said "look at the last results, and aren't we doing well" Frankly, I was deeply unimpressed. Given the complete lack of info, I do wonder why on earth we're paying for an IR department.

I suppose I shouldn't complain. I had previously bought in the £5's and sold in the £8's (from memory) and because I really rate this company, re-bought in the high £6's, which I thought would be the bottom. So, although I'm down now, I'm still ahead of the game overall. We must be due a trading update in the not too distant, which will hopefully give me a bit of backbone.

a400, I agree, but I'm beginning to get concerned. The downward pressure is relentless and I can see no reason at all for it. All very odd.
