BNC, Jerry's original post was merely a reference to Berenberg's belief that one of the best ways to unlock shareholder value in junior exploration companies is via a jv and as such it was entirely relevant to the discussion here. In my opinion it makes no sense to ignore comparisons with other companies - the market doesn't and neither should private investors.

Yes, that was a mysterious reference, although I suspect it didn't have any deeper connotations.
It doesn't matter how many times I think about our situation I always come back to THE fundamental point; which is that BHP will not be happy to sit back as small minority holders. I simply isn't what hey do. Had they not stood their corner in the latest fund raise I may have questioned my argument; but they did and it was a very clear signal of intent.
Anyway, like everyone else, I'm eagerly awaiting the next raft of new, which can't be too far away.

Having been one of the GGP shareholders who managed to buy at a very low level and sold out in the low 30s, you can probably guess that I'm rather happy with the performance, but I absolutely accept your point about the position they find themselves in vis a vis NCM (Jerry may well disagree). But I do wonder if any junior miner has any choice if it wishes to participate in the long term? It seems to me the ONLY choices are jv or full sale. As you know, I simply don't buy the independent production narrative.

rcgl, with the greatest of respect that comment is somewhat disingenuous. Many people bought the share when it was languishing down in the single figures and are sitting on a substantial profit, all of which has come about by virtue of the tie-up with NCM.
Of course, some have purchased at the level you suggest, and that is their misfortune. However, if they hang on they're likely to end up with a good return.
A jv with a major, which would obviously be BHP, would have a profoundly positive impact for us, and if we don't end up selling the lot, this would be the best way forward to create some nearer term shareholder value.

Jerry, looks like it. II5.6m too 112.6m. It could be this is a simple typo or, they sold the shares.

It's also worth noting that only 18.51% of shares are now in the hands of "friendly" holders, as opposed to 39% which could be deemed to be otherwise.

Interesting to note that in the RNS dated 5th May it was stated BR had fallen to below 5% and yet this update says they own 5.03%. Why does this matter? Because they are still in declarable territory.

The truth is the market gives GGP far more credit for having a management team with its feet firmly planted on planet earth as opposed to one which didn't. I believe this has now changed and in due course we'll see the proof.

Fastjet, none of the new investors have purchased a notifiable stake and therefore I don't think they'll appear in the MD&A.

James Lovelock is the man to listen to. He was right in the first place and he's right now. He believes the process is irreversible and whilst he does not propose we should continue burning fossil fuels and that alternatives must be found, his main thrust is that mankind needs to spend trillions preparing for the inevitable. Flood defences, sustainable food production, nuclear power etc. In short - it's gonna happen, make sure you're ready.
Of course, the green lobby has turned its back on him because he refuses to bow to their myopic approach.

any of you were concerned by Novice's post it may be worth your while having another look at what Crux actually said ( if you google Crux/Solg you'll find a useful summary).
I found it to be a helpful exercise for the simple reason it reminds us of just how much has changed since October when the report was published. Provided you bear that in mind, there's no reason to have any concern about the Crux report. I should add that in my opinion their report was, in part, responsible for the changes which have occurred - or rather, it provided an additional stimulus, as it made public certain concerns I believe were already being harboured by our main shareholders and some of the new board members.
Conclusion?: we have moved way beyond where we were in the autumn of last year and it's almost as if it's a different company. As the Colonel says, it really does feel different this time.

Frog, in my opinion BHP/NCM have just given us the clearest indication of their intention and it conforms to your view. In other words, they are happy to wait until the PFS and in all probability see their recent investment as 'option' money. If they like what they see, and obviously they do thus far, they will buy the company.
Had they not taken part in the placing it would have presented an interesting situation, but that is merely hypothetical.
As I said the other day, 2022 is when the action will happen - earlier if we pull a rabbit out of the hat with regard to the timing of the PFS.

Having been a shareholder for long time I sold out when Ganfeng came on board. The direction of travel was clear to see and I had zero faith in Secker being able to deliver anything better. I was hyper-critical of the guy and from what I've seen over the past couple of years, he hasn't got any better.
Well done to those who bought recently, but I certainly understand the anger of you long termers.
