Typically at least 3 month prior to election dates is when party manifestos are released, with both front runners (bnp the clear favourites) in favour of utilising their own resources to provide energy security.

One imagines with recent political turmoil in Bangla, campaigns will kick off earlier than usual. GLA

With good quality, cheap coal so desperately needed in Bangla, it should only be a matter of months before a green light imo.

A small drop is nothing, we can make up the drop in a matter of minutes with how the share price moves, so relax and don’t pay too much attention to the SP (up or down).

The fact the projects were done *all without proper impact assessments*

Does that read like a man that would never approve any of the projects?? Or someone who would’ve done things slightly differently, like proper impact assessments. I’d say the latter!

Phulbari is exactly what the Govt needs:

‘The Group's strategy of developing the Phulbari coal deposit as a captive, large-scale, open pit mining operation supporting some 6,600MW of highly energy-efficient Ultra-Supercritical power generation will enable cheaper coal-fired electricity than imported coal options. This evolving strategy has been enhanced to include installation of a large-scale Solar Power Park (up to 2,000MW) within the Project area, to be installed within the first two years of gaining land access; operating the Phulbari coal mine as a "Net Zero Carbon" or "Green Mine"; and participation modalities for Government.’

You’ll likely be complaining about this tweet same time next year, with BNP as the new govt having approved the Phulbari mine, such is your delusional.

Any rumblings in the energy sector is great news for us, it means it’s a priority and changes need/are going to be made.

Accumulation at this point is a race against time, once we pop - they’ll have to chase the SP up. Make them pay!!

For context, GCM has invested over £55 million in the Project to 30 June 2020 preparing the Feasibility Study, Scheme of Development, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Management Action Plans and more recently extensively refining and updating the work carried out in the Feasibility Study. Explaining the Project to a wide range of stakeholders in Bangladesh also continues.

Today’s price values the company at a measly 20 million market cap.

Considering we have everything in place to get the project up and running including a development partner, resettlement agreements with locals, historical BNP support, a massive need and demand for coal in Bangla amongst countless other things.

I’d say those buying in at today’s prices are getting an absolute steal. If (according to BOD ‘when’) we get mention of approval, that’s when the real big money arrives and those buying in single digits will wish they had bought more.

Mm’s are offering very little on the ask before moving the price up.

They ‘re looking for any excuse to take up, trying to shake out profit takers along the way.

Real money will arrive over the coming months as we approach election date, although someone has been loading up in blocks for weeks, if not months now.

It’s a good time to clench your butt cheeks and hang onto whatever little shares you have for dear life!

Nuts! Can’t procure the coal to get this 2.5 billion $ asset running!!

With a U turn on Matabari and it now being given the go ahead for phase 2 - GCM statements from last years rns are proving correct.

‘The Company has received Expressions of Interest to purchase Phulbari's coal from both of Bangladesh's current Independent Power Producers, being SS Power Limited that operates the 1,320MW Banshkhali power plant and Barisal Electric Power Company that operates a 350MW unit at Barisal (with plans to add an additional unit). These represent some 27% of the present market.

Bangladesh currently has 6,035 MW of installed coal-fired power generating capacity with a demand for some 16 million tonnes of coal per annum, i.e., equivalent to the Phulbari coal mine's planned production. However, the long-term government plan shows an increase in coal-fired power to 11,830 MW which would require some 36 million tonnes of coal per annum.’
