The insurance reduction makes total sense if it were to encourage people to adopt vision-based DMS, but only before the Euro NCap and GSR mandates because then it will be compulsory. I do wonder if, when this technology is introduced to mass markets - and therefore the masses of people, terminology around it may need to be reviewed. Words like 'tracked' are almost buzzwords to instigate complaints about invasions of privacy etc. However, as Colin B. mentioned yesterday, why would people have a problem with a camera in the cabin anyway, picking up data of us driving. What would the automakers - or insurance companies - do exactly with raw video footage of us all driving a car ? Put that into context with the amount of data Facebook has scraped from us all unknowingly...
