I think Roy sold out around Christmas time when a number of biggish sells appeared. It would be a shaame if he missed out on this :
One for the trolls.
March 2024.
“A 15% return this week takes Metals Exploration's (LON:MTL) shareholders five-year gains to 645%”

It has been a long slog whereby even a few years back I never imagined I would be paying 5.30p for MTL like I did this morning. Luckily, I kept the faith helped by world events, DB himself and other investors on here. With POG at $2329 and next week’s update I can now foresee 6p and more in the coming weeks.

100%. If Saga was a dog I would put it out of its misery.
Saigonsally. Great post. It should be on every BB. I want to see the fake conservatives destroyed for how they have destroyed GB. The Labour crowd can hardly be much worse but iny case I will be spoiling my GE ballot or voting for Farage's lot.
Wetherspoons operates on the old market trading principle of “pile ‘em high sell ‘em cheap” - next year Rodney……..
Yes, the margins are keen but every Spoons is a cash cow with any that don’t perform sold off in favour of new sites expected to do better.
Eating out is something that people do in increasing numbers where “can’t cook, won’t cook” is very common with GenZ and even older folk.
Thanks Lee.
I went back to the RNS of January 2024 picking out highlights to remind ourselves of what is about to take place under the leadership of Darren Bowden.
Have no doubt. MTL is going places.
“A majority and controlling interest in a highly prospective exploration licence covering 16,200 hectares (40,000 acres) on Luzon, Philippines, in the Cordillera region, a prolific gold belt of proven mineral endowment, having produced over 40Moz of gold historically.
The Abra Tenement includes several drill ready target areas and numerous areas of historical artisanal mining operations.
Initial planned exploration work programmes will include geochemistry, geophysics, mapping and review of historical data, intended to lead to a drill programme which is currently expected to commence during H2 2024. I.E. April 2024. The initial 2024 work programme is intended to commence in the Lacub area, targeting previously identified high-grade gold systems.
A geochemical map of the Abra tenement overlain with sampling data shows five main target areas. Of note in this image, the stars denote copper values in excess of 65ppm. Several significant structural intersection points appear to be centres for higher grade copper anomalies.
Manikbel has the highest intensity copper geochemical signature of all the areas, coinciding with an area of major structural intersection. The underlying geology is similar to Lacub, however, in this case, the mineralisation from historical sampling seems to be predominantly copper with little gold identified to date. Outcrops mapped for over a 2km strike confirm copper values over 15%. It appears to represent a near-surface porphyry system. The prospect is located close to the west coast which has port infrastructure, accessible via national arterial roads.
Area 1 South Central region shows high-grade gold targets, with significant small-scale mining activity. Historical exploration in Area 1 has targeted high-grade gold occurrences over several square kilometers and has identified multiple mineralised vein systems. The area is north of MPSA 141, a mining licence with a gold resource and south of MPSA 144, a mining licence with a copper/gold resource.”

Travel yes. Insurance no. A pity Saga don't look after their shareholders like the passengers on their luxury ships. And we desperately need on update on plans for joint ventures.
Two days of sun here in coastal Lancashire. Jolly Tars in Cleveleys rammed, Poulton le Fylde Elk outside area half full. And I daresay the Blackpool Albert and Lion spoons will be crammed with seaside day trippers.
Here is an interesting extract from July 2023 about mining in The Philippines. It would seem that there are lots of opportunities for MTL to expand their operations in coming months and years
https://www.austrade.gov.au/en/news-and-analysis/analysis/mining-in-the-philippines-a-new-chapter
“The Philippines is one of the world’s most richly endowed mineral resources countries. It is estimated to have about $1 trillion worth of untapped copper, gold, nickel, zinc and silver reserves. Only 5% of these reserves have been explored, and 3% are covered by mining contracts.
The Philippines’ mining industry is rebounding thanks to the Marcos Jr Administration’s mining policies. Metal production increased almost 32% in 2022 compared to the year before. Total export value for 2020–2022 was US$18.7 billion or 8.51% of the country’s total exports.
The Administration wants mining in the Philippines to adhere to responsible and sustainable mining practices. It wants to strike a balance between protecting the environment, benefiting local communities and supporting the government’s socioeconomic agenda. It is especially keen to rehabilitate mined-out areas and undertake progressive rehabilitation.
These developments send a welcome signal to potential investors and businesses interested in the country’s vast resources at a time when mineral prices are high and demand for critical minerals is strong.
There are 56 operating metallic mines and 7 processing plants or smelters in the Philippines (see Table 1). The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources predicts there could be another 190 mining projects in the next 4 years.”
Mikehr1991. Welcome . There is an update mid to late December which should set the SP on another upward trend, followed by a vote around MTL's expansion in June. Most if not all of the LTHs on here can see 5p easily, the more optimistic can see 10p and beyond. If MTL becomes both a gold and copper producer then who knows?
