The share price was already low. The market expected worse losses than reported. So the sp was over sold.
The sp rose on the basis the results mean the business is valued more highly. It can work both ways, increased profits or decreased losses.

This will be £3 again one day

I’ve bitten the bullet and bought £350 more at 145. Might go down again but I believe in 200p one day. My first buy was £550 at 115p

I have little short term confidence in Bt share price.
And I have some confidence in the medium term price.

But I have great confidence in the long term share price and it’s consistent dividend prosperity.

I only have £550 in RR at 115p bought February 2022. Not great timing as any time after I’d have been in cheaper

That said, looking forward, I might buy £450 more if it gets closer to 130p at some point during the day Monday

I bought these just before the massacre , at 115p £550 worth approx 472 shares. Should have topped up at 70p

Will hold now as bought to sell at £2 one day

Yes I understand that but thank you for your reply.

What I was meaning is if I bought at various prices averaging £1 (for instance) and sold £5000 worth or 2500 shares at a price of £2 per share, then my average would reduce in effect.

Whatever your average you can sell up to the tax limit and no CGT to pay, sometimes it’s better to do that , when in profit, than wait for a higher price where the CGT cancels out the additional gain

I wouldn’t sell all mine at 250p because I believe within 5 years 250p will be cheap. I would sell some at a profit but within tax threshold , for shares outside isa . This would also greatly reduce my average.

I would only sell the bulk of shares at a high price, because I believe the dividends will progressively increase , as per the companies promise, and as per the last time Bt restarted the dividends , 10 years ago or so.

If things go to plan I am hoping to one day be receiving 14p dividends a year as was the case prior to cancellation pre pandemic .

They were top ups mate for Bt , vod was my entry

I’ve bought Bt at various prices over the years , 80p 150p 200p, 170p, 100, 112-140 in the last 6 months

Bought about £8000 between
112 and 125p with the 2.3p divi , plus £11000 of Vodafone between 85-92p

I bought £750 at 153p. I bought £600 more at 211p yesterday. Wont be buying more but will possibly reinvest divi

I love Bt shares. They will do well.

Rumours that overtime restrictions have been put in place and are tightening as weeks go by leading to end of q4.

Part of this is to do with £500m extra cost savings, partly to do with the payrise (counter increase cost and warning to CWU when trying to force another increase in September)

Partly and most important to shareholders , it is increasingly likely targets will be met for q4 and thus year
