No idea where this will go next week or the week after but I'd imagine it will build nicely into mid march for the anticipation of the interim drill results.

Every chance that GH may catch the traders & MMs off guard with a left field announcement so I'll be staying in.

I agree they are probably going deeper also mercman - especially if the drills have been hitting at depth they will want to keep going to see what's down there.

@jonesrichard - GGP did do an operational update in March last year but not sure if that is the norm or if that was driven by the fact that they announced the NCM farm-in the previous week

Thing is if it's infill drilling that's using existing sumps then it won't show up on the satellite images.

We are going to have to wait for the Newcrest updates to see the actual drill results.

I saw a model of how infill drilling can be done on Corebox. I will post a picture later when I get back to the PC.

Basically they use existing holes from the surface and branch off underground - it ends up looking like a spiders web

Fair point VC but either way if they want to get an MRE out for then when would they need to complete the drilling required??

I'm guessing there is a lot of modelling, planning etc to do after drilling has been completed so to get an estimate out would you need a couple of weeks, months to complete it?

Yeah looks a good spot mate. Been having a think about the progress on the drilling.

We know NCM still have 6 rigs working 24/7 at Havieron but it looks like there are less new step out holes appearing.

It's interesting though that some of the black sumps have disappeared but some have stayed active and even have sort of "reactivated".

I'm wondering if NCM have started their infill drilling around the existing known areas with say half the rigs and are using existing sump pits and the remaining rigs are continuing with the definition of the new NW area.

Sandeep is probably under pressure to deliver an MRE as soon as possible - remember originally he said 6-9 months back in September.

I can't see any reason why NCM would change their update schedule from what they've done up to now. We have had interim results between the 3 quarterlies up to now.

If they stick to that we should hopefully see some results in about 4ish weeks.

Agreed Antigua not a negative at all in my eyes - the sooner the better.

Big thing for NCM now is to find the best place to put in the exploration decline. I assume this would then be used as the main decline for the operating mine so they need to be absolutely sure of the extents of the deposit.

As regards the infill drilling - I think when the weather gets more amenable to it we will see the increase in rigs that you are taking about.

I'm more NW - Wolves area TBF. I've been to see Wasps a few times, my daughter plays netball for the Wasps academy so I've got no choice lol.

I also think that's a very real possibility Antigua. Don't know how that works with GGP getting value for their share though.

I guess we would be locked into the toll treating agreement going forward which I'd be quite happy to see.

But necessarily Tom. They could be targeting a deeper area further to the NE with this new hole.

Something has caught their attention up there because they've been fairly concentrated in this area for a while now and NCM won't be putting in 1500+ diamond holes without good reason IMHO

I think the new hole in the SW will still target the same depths as before but it will obviously be further NE before it gets to those depths.

They are really targeting that area - it's obvious they've seen something up there that they really like IMHO.

Stu - Have a look at this twitter post I put out a while back - It has the last set of drill results laid over the Google Earth map of all the reported drill holes. You can see where HAD023 finishes and how the holes in the SW are targeting that area also.

hydrogen - the high resolution images that are on the Duckduckgo and Google Earth images are aerial images rather than satellite images are are not updated very frequently.
Agreed that the sentinel images are not very high res but I think they can relay all the info that we need.
