There's already an airstrip at Telfer so they definitely won't be building one at Havieron!!!

I don't know for definite jones but Thursday 12th would be 6 weeks exactly which would leave 7 weeks to April 30th. I'm just guessing it might be the middle of the following week which would be almost exactly halfway between the 2 quarterlies.

To summarise, the formation of Telfer-style mineralisation
requires the coincidence of a number of important geological
factors. These include:

(I) emplacement of a large plutonic complex near a
periodically reactivated, regional-scale, fluid-focussing
structure;

(2) permeable sedimentary host rocks, in which heated
formational and contact-metamorphic fluids can circulate
in large, thermal convection cells and leach metals and S;

(3) host rocks with background Au of the order of ~2-7 ppb
(see Romberger 1988 for leaching requirements and
background concentrations of Au in potential source
rocks);

(4) abundant aquifers of saline formational waters in the
sedimentary sequence (to provide the ligands required for
Au and Cu transport as chloride complexes) and;

(5) chemical (calcareous and carbonaceous lithologies) and
structural traps (anticlinal hinge zones) for the deposition
of Au and Cu sulphides from ore fluids.

So it looks like we have a "yes" to all the above - just need to find out how big it is, next set of results will be "interesting" IMHO.

Been doing a bit of reading up and research this morning. I've found this very interesting report by Professor D.I. Groves published in 1996 titled "Neoproterozoic Telfer-style Au (Cu) deposits"

He was the expert that Sprott used in their research note from January last year.

He surmises that the Telfer style mineralisation is unique and could only offer a couple of analogues of that style of mineralisation in the world so for him to declare that Havieron was a sister deposit of Telfer was a bold statement back then but it looks likely that he will be proved right.

"In this paper, the role of granitoids in the mineralisation process at Telfer is more clearly defined and pertinent exploration criteria for the discovery of new Telfer style ore bodies are discussed."

No worries Tom, Just done a quick tot up - Beetham says he's holding 160M so if we add that to the others on website it's gives about 390,000,000 shares accounted for - The total in issue at the moment is 3,577,233,658.

That leaves 3,187,233,658 shares for us mere mortals

So if a lot of people have over 10M shares this would mean there would only be about 300 other shareholders in the company.

Somebody is doing a lot of trading IMO - lol

VC, personally I think they probably have split the rigs now so some are completing the infill drilling and the rest are testing depth and edges.

The ones in the NW are probably testing the depth at the moment and may continue with the step-outs later.

I think NCM will be under pressure to get enough drilling done to complete the MRE later in the year

Good luck to ARV but I won't be buying any Arnie - they may or may not get lucky but we're already 2 years further down the line at Havieron and 6 months or more down the line at Scallywag so why???

I think that Artemis are trying hard to drum up interest on the back of the GGP / NCM success at Havieron and I guess who can blame them - if the shoe was on the other foot then I'm sure we would be employing the same tactics.

Have a look at the two diagrams in this report on Stockhead though - I think the red line on the Artemis diagram is a little more NS than the one on the NCM diagram - can't blame them for trying though.

"Broker’s Numis, which has just upgraded its price target for Greatland have said there could
be upwards of 5.5mln ounces at Havieron, and that’s before considering the as yet unexplored
areas to the northwest which are thought to contain significant further mineralisation."

We know these "areas" are not unexplored they are "unreported", so when they say "are thought to contain significant further mineralisation" what are they actually telling us???

Summary
The AIM market is a fickle environment and moves are fleeting, largely due to a lack of volumes
and a lack of reporting clarity. However, I am in agreement with Numis on this one. Greatland’s
prospects look to be far superior than other miners in this market. The reality is that the
prospects for Greatland gold are high quality and if it can be pulled out of the ground also of
a significant quantity. There is also significant strong noise from Newcrest who are the joint
venture partners over in Australia. In fact they have been so impressed with the prospects that
they have opened the taps to drilling in the region in an effort to have resources moving out
of the ground by the end of the year. And let’s be clear on this, Newcrest is no minnow with a
market cap of $20bn+
However, if you have been around the markets as long as I, then you will surely know it is
never as simple as it might seem. It takes more than just numbers to really make a difference
and with the only target price out in the market being 6p the short-term upside is stunted.
That being said, the price of gold also plays its part and any drop in gold could temporarily
weigh on the share price and give investors the entry level required. This year is going to be an
interesting year for the company and if all goes to plan, we could be looking at a significantly
different price by the end of the year.

Looks like it's going to get very busy around that area of the Paterson in the next few months.

NCM going at it hammer & tongs, Artemis find their Geo chemistry and drilling at Armada and GGP starting their maiden drill campaign at Scallywag (hopefully).

We should be well ahead of Artemis as our geo-chemistry has been completed and analysed since last year and if they are targeting Q2 to start drilling we should be finished and be reporting by then.

I saw oldtimers post earlier saying that he had been in touch with investor relations at Newcrest and they confirmed Havieron drill results would be roughly every 6 weeks so not long to wait for the next set now - I'm hoping to get them on March 17th - that would be a nice St Paddy's Day present.

Makes perfect sense CB, and I've seen models of similar drill-outs on other projects especially when there is 400m of cover.

I'm still on the road in Ireland on the phone only so difficult to analyse the satellite image too closely but not too many obvious step outs.

I think they are into infill drilling mode now - they need to get as much drilling done as possible over the next few months to allow them the time to get the MRE out towards the end of the year.

3-4 weeks until next assays and plenty of "other" perspective news between now and then.
