Maltloaf - Bangladesh is planning for a large expansion in power generation and has neither the capital or the technology to do this without substantial outside investment. It does not plan to invest in all power projects. There is currently substantial independent power generation in Bangladesh with a capacity of about 40% of total (over 5 GW) according to the BPDB annual report of 2016-17.

Rangpur Division (the northern most part of the country with 10% of population) does not have natural gas, so all energy besides the local coal needs to be imported.

Moving energy by wire will be cheaper and more practical than transporting coal and Bangladesh has plans to improve and expand the electricity grid (or more accurately grids) with loans from ADB, IBRD and others. JSW is looking for support from Prime Minister Morawiecki

There are several articles in Polish, on the internet, regarding a meeting held in Chelm, Poland (Chem is the nearest city to the Jan Karski mine). At the invitation of the Law and Justice party Daniel Orzon (of JSW) presented his plans for the Jan Karski mine. Orzon needs the support of the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (also of Law and Justice) to support his plans for Jan Karski and also to avoid being replaced as JSW president. It is suggested that the Law and Justice party wants to signal their support for a project that will create 2,300 jobs in the area.

BUY price is showing 0.012 when trying to buy WHY ?

The Bid / Ask is quoted as 1.15p to 1.30p which is for a NMS (normal market size) of 20,000 shares (about £ 240 worth).

You can currently trade at 1.167p to 1.188p for as size of 100,000 shares - so the quoted price means little.

The interesting thing here is that GCM wants a Chinese partner to do the mining. If this happens it could transform the prospects for GCM. Bangladesh will be happier to give a GL to a Chinese mined project as it would reduce environmental concerns and bring with it the capital necessary to generate 6GW of electricity. It would also avoid commitments given in 2006 not to allow Asian Energy to mine.

Today's trades are total less than £ 7,000 - so the closing price means very little. You would not need to spend much cash to move the price up significantly.

We have had "operational updates" on 26/6, 29/8 and 25/9. So next Monday would my my guess for the next one.

The most recent reference to this project is in the last annual report (published 13 Dec 2017).

"Ghurayyah Tantalum-Niobium-Rare-Earth Project, Saudi Arabia - The project continues to be on hold pending the issue of a new exploration licence." (Page 6)
