Sorry to hear that. I first bought @49p after the referendum. Been buying up and then a lot more down since then. I'm just above breakeven now, but holding for years not months. Think they have prospects.
One day they might well pay off the balance of my mortgage :)

Yes indeed. I'm not in any hurry, I admire their restraint. Ive bought lloyds myself, throughout a range of 69p down to 29p. I could learn a lot from that algo.
If / when they resume high volume buying, I'd guess it won't take more than another three weeks or so to complete.

I'd guess it would be impossible to complete without a continually falling share price.

"an algorithm that buys if price is less than 50 day moving average" is I think right, in that a short term increase in SP would trigger a reduction or pause in share purchases, but Lloyds reply said "...Clearly if the share price continues to rise, the weighted average price will go up, and then the algorithm will start trading more heavily again."

Good question and I don't know the answer. Too many unknown parameters eg how long a period is a rolling average measured over, how do they figure it all out I wonder.
Had been thinking this would be complete by end of Sept, not so sure now.

Not that many as an overall percentage. For £80k gross you would need a very specialised qualification with proven successful experience. These are not "routine jobs".

I like to think this is because I have since worked for 38 years. But that ignores the privileges I had of a supportive family and good education and the life chances that go with it.
I agree that relationship breakdown and loss of job are common causes of homelessness. It can be hard to understand the enormity of what homelessness means and how difficult it is to recover, unless you have either been there or helped someone else in that position. Posts that portray a subsistence on benefits as a luxurious life style have no clue whatsoever.

Yes I see your point - Lloyds response is very coy and doesn't disclose the actual time periods they choose for the algo to measure averages. Neither do they state whether its simply average price paid over time or moving volume weighted average.
I think that decisions will always be consistently rational from an algo until someone gives it different parameters. At the time that buying reduced dramatically, I didn't think someone had intervened manually - but its all guesswork.
My 4.5B volume target is looking even more extremely optimistic and it is unknown what drops in price we will see when the buyback programme ends. I cant see much else than a resolution in Ukraine that would prompt a sharp increase.
