I just meant that it was the total spend so far. To be fair, the wording I used is copied from the RNS yesterday.

They don't give aggregate totals so far every day in the RNS for transaction in own shares. But yesterday they did for some reason, add on: "the Company has purchased 4,185,257,520 ordinary shares for a consideration of £1,854,560,798.73"
I wondered if they do it when they also publish the total voting rights, as that also happened yesterday. I cant check that back to the one before, as HL only gives the most recent RNS announcements.
Anyway my optimistic guess at the start of the month, 4,500,033,854 looks very low.

Either way, a very strong likelihood that we will exceed 4.5B in a few days.
That wasn't looking like it would be possible. MS have been able to take full advantage of the 10% drop in price during the last week.
It will all be over soon.

I assume the newly declared extra bit of Russia is an attempt at withdrawing behind new lines, for a longer term contested settlement.
To be honest I don't know wtf is going on and I just wish it would stop, because I see one sh*t load of a problem in attacking an undersea pipeline when it causes one of the biggest gas leaks in history.

I know, it gets very personal when the attacks are on the person and not the post. I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. Heading up a subject about another poster is a bit of a giveaway. Its a mainly right wing forum, but there are occasional nuggets of financial insight from some here that I really value. As well as Brixton's jokes :)

Personally speaking I think it's a tough future. To me, the point of investing in renewables and carbon reduction is it might make it slightly less increasingly tough for future generations.

Reverse the mini budget. Prioritise borrowed money to go on renewables industry and reducing domestic energy demand through a planned insulation programme. Uplift Universal credit to make up for the years of austerity when this same party alleged that reducing the deficit was justification for freezing and/or reducing benefits while choosing to provide tax cuts for better off people. I know this board will hate these ideas, but you did ask.

Mostly I agree with you but personally I would regard the IMF as quite important.

Yes, this is not disputed. Meanwhile lets hope that a miracle occurs and it somehow all works out favourably for UK. But right now I have a kind of sick, pessimistic feeling about it all.
