I think my boss is a moron as well, but it doesn't mean anyone cuts me any breaks at work. I have zero sympathy for Reeves. The reasons I really, really dislike her are even before her first budget she gave self congratulatory interviews claiming "My budget will match the greatest economic moments in Labour history". And then afterwards (when no-one was impressed) she spouted it was "good for jobs and good for growth".

It's perhaps not her fault she talks like a robot, but being both incompetent and conceited while having no insight into either is a good reason for her not to be Chancellor - or even in politics. Someone here said she makes Truss look competent, thats a very good career epitaph.

Agree that Farage is a good orator. He has a real talent for capturing the mood of the people, very similar to Trump. But he is also the victim of saying what he thinks people want to hear. His plans would require significant legislation, exiting the ECHR and the 1951 refugee convention. In turn he would need a significant majority in the house of commons and get it through the Lords. I do not believe his plans are realistic or achievable in the budget he has available. Farage has another key strength, almost unique in UK politics, which he is unanimously popular within his own party. His victory will be down to the ineptitude of our other politicians and the fact their self seeking personal ambition outweighs their social responsibility. I think you are misplaced in your idea that the PoW camps you are suggesting for refugees could then be used by people who are homeless. I suppose it depends on what you want to happen, but most people working in the sector would hope for rehabilitation, good physical and mental health services and decent homes for people to live in. They aren't criminals.

Yes, I think Lloyds is a well run business. My fears dont stem from the management of the bank, but from the management of the economy. I think BB has a point about sterling. For once I am thinking he may be right, this is a good price point to sell. A recovery to 85p would likely find me selling all the Lloyds in my ISA. The Lloyds in my SIPP can stay there until Im old and decrepit. I dont quite have the nerve to sell today.

That article quotes "António Horta-Osório is the current Chief Executive Officer of Lloyds Banking" and then goes on about Charlie Nunn being effective in 202 and "the stock has rebounded strongly in 2021". So it's about four years out of date.

But remember it's only a "best guess" and Hardup spells out the certainty below over when we will learn of next years plans.

Yes, every year Lloyds issue more shares for staff. I think we will stay below 60B though. HL currently quote 59.72 Billion as the share count.
