Zero interest rates for the next 4-5 years? If that is the dase why have stocks here and the US risen on the basis of a "V shaped recovery?" I personally think stocks will fall because we are not going to get a V shaped recovery, as there will be further lockdowns.

Pub shares have factored in the sales which will still be way below what they were before.With social distancing, pubs will never be packed like they were until we get a vaccine. Even thenm it will be a while after that the pub shares return to normal.

Put another way, if the SP had rallied to 40p in the last few days which I thought it would have. I would have bought today.

It was a last minute decision to not take up, they were up and down. If they go down monday or later in the week I will top up. I could have sold for 31p at best today.

i could be wrong, but 25p may be the floor, before a rise to over 40p and then further rises in the autumn. We have to appreciate, SIG need to do in a recession, what they struggled to do in better times.

This is a solid company and long term we will see the SP back over a quid. We on this BB are "small fish in a big pond." We must appreciate the behaviour of the SP so close to take up time is related to the plans the institutions who buy shares have for SIG. We could theoretically see it fall quite a bit below 30p, but only to recover even stronger. It may not go below 30p again, but may not rise above 40p for a long time. We should not be afraid to speculate, it went to 15p when there were less shares around, but we would only see this if the DOW crashes soon, which is not likely.

There is very little long term risk here, but very little prospect of short term profit.

And the US markets have not yet fallen, just imagine when this slowly trickles down to 50p and the US markets actually take a reality check. If it looks like Biden is going to win, by September get ready for a bloodbath, Stagecoach will drop to 25p.

I'm surprised and worried it was left out of the crazy rally from march when companies on the way down before the word covid 19 was invented shot up. Companies like Restaurant from 20p to 70p, Cineworld 20p to 99p whilst being closed. I mentioned Stobart, it went from 28p when it mentioned the possibility of needing funding, yet it swelled to 70p. Others like First Group 25p to 65p. I know these are different sectors, but the point being made was SIG should have ''jumped on the gravy train from march'' yet it didn't.

However, they did go from 28p in March to 70p, I'm concerned how SIG didn't go from 15p to say 50p before the announcement.I think a lot of companies will go the same way issuing new shares, not all for growth, but part survival. In better times Rights Issues very rarely see the SP dip below the issue, because it is all for positive reasons. I could be wrong, but these will drop below 30p next week.

depends on you broker, I use AJ Bell and I must buy by Friday. However, the "deadline" could be today for me if the SP drops below 30p or another day this week. Hope I'm wrong, but why buy at 30p if you can buy at 28p?

Sandyman are you asking the question "is it worth taking up your entitelment if you can break even at 50p with the shares you currently hold?"
If so I think the SP will be 50p a lot quicker than people think so you will break even, but if you take up your entitelment at 30p, your average will be less than 50p and we will get to that break even level quicker. I personally I think 45p will be seen quickly, but after that getting to 60 70p is something that will take at least the rest of the year, of course with loads of bumps along the way.

That was a completely different company as there were fewer shares in circulation. However, it fell with the wider market on fears of a depression which we would now be seeing if it was not for the action taken by the Federal Reserve. They are printing money and buying up junk bonds, to this effect instead of a depresssion we will see a long term recession. If we had no rights issue, I doubt the SP would have been more than 50p, so I personally will not touch these above 20p.

Anyway, I'm not prepared to " go round in circles" I made my view clear in earlier posts. I will reiterate the fact SIg is going places, but not so soon.

This is a solid company and will recover. With a second wave, all stocks will get hit, this one will get hit" for the sake of it" but will recover just as quick.

I hope you are right, however wishful thinking will get you niwhere. The bottom line is we are experiencing a continuation of a "first wave coronavirus" in the USA with a " second wave" yet to possibly come. To this effect, all shares will fall, even rock solid stocks fall in sympathy with the hugely overvalued DOW. Put another way, the DOW is more important for SIG than SIG itself.

For new shares is 40p not 35p?

Will wait until the eve of entitelment day before buying or not buying. If they are way above 30p, then ok to buy, otherwise if tey are only 35p, it is not worth it as after dilution, can see these at 25-30p.
