JDS, but the insurance companies covering this are bigger than M&S so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be scared of battling on their own interest. And regarding the "wrangling" I guess if it is as Beo1 has described then M&S for sure wouldn't want this played out in the press so would perhaps be more willing for a quick closure and move on. Maybe they will negotiate it on the future insurance premiums.

As I posted in the past, I put my M&S cash after selling at 406 into RR, EZJ & MSFT. Just did a quick calc and those moves have earned me 12.8% so far. That would be the equivalent of my M&S 406 now being 458. For me to buy M&S, and to keep within my max investment policy, I would need to sell something else and whilst there is momentum in those stocks and still risk hanging over M&S then I can't bring myself to doing it. As much as I would like to, it just doesn't make sense. There will be a right time to do it, it's just not now for me.

@JDS I agree. As much as I want to jump back in, my issue is how the market will perceive the forward guidance, in particular on clothing & home. Remember this was one of the things that dragged the share price down after the update in Jan. I suspect that it has taken a bit of a beating with the replenishment & online issues so when they guide lower YoY will the market think that it's totally connected to the cyber attack or will it think that the company is also hiding something given the poor performance in Jan? This is what keeps going around in my head.

I'm thinking about doing the same TBH. I was going to buy more yesterday expecting good results but decided to wait which turned out to be the right decision in the end.

Anybody know why the SP has dropped today on what look like positive results and dividend boost? I haven't been able to find anything.

The forward is based on the Nov guidance and the recalc will be based on the next set. If they forecast much lower earnings then the forward PE won't look so cheap but the trailing will as you pointed out below.

Just did a trailing PE check vs their peers:

M&S 14.74

JD 12.87

Sainsbury 15.40

Tesco 15.92

Next 20.40

Inditex 25.63

So M&S looks to be one of the cheaper stocks when taken at face value which might be helping prop up the share price. The fact that the cyber attack happened in the last financial year then it won't have any major impact when the results come out. However, M&S is slightly more expensive when looking at the forward PE:

The worry here is that when they will likely forecast lower revenues due to the attack then the forward PE will shoot up and the SP won't look so attractive anymore vs it's peers. A lot will depend if investors will be prepared to look beyond this or not.

@Cosb102, you might have timed your re-entry to perfection and good luck to you. At least you already have a bit of a buffer. For me I prefer to wait but I will definitely be back in sooner or later.

Having got out at 406 I'm quite happy to watch from the side lines. I'm not prepared to try and catch a falling knife with so much uncertainty so I'm happy to wait until it's all out. The knife will hit the floor when all the damage is out and from that point on my investment case will be forward looking without having to keep looking over my shoulder worrying about what is happening in the background. @Trendz, there's no such thing as a good short term dip to buy on when you're totally blind to something which is harming the company. My money is elsewhere until all the facts are out. As I've written before in the past, tangible doubt=drag and we are seeing it play out unfortunately.

@LSELoser, so it's not just me that this happens to then lol.

I do honestly think though that with the oil price, and IAG's results today being so good (even with the Heathrow fire) EZJ should fly high in their next set of results. When that fire occurred I checked out flights from Gatwick to different destinations over those days and saw that the bookings & prices shot up. What I don't understand though is why didn't they didn't get a bounce off IAG today? Anybody got any idea?

I think what Falla failed to mention below was that his order that's now ready for collection is for his eggs from the Easter weekend lol 😜

@JDS, I know you hold RR so I'll post it here rather than there because some of them there are like a bunch of kids and fill it with bullsh*t.

I doubled up on RR as soon as the market opened this morning with the balance of my M&S money because I had this hunch (this is what I posted over there earlier).

I have zero evidence to back this up, just a feeling in my water, that this trade announcement shortly might be positive for RR.
