@Fforest, personally I would like to see it out there now so I can start accumulating again but If they're going to be worse and I were Machin then I would wait for results day and make the focus more forward looking, also making favourable comparisons between the months leading up to results vs pre-hack, to try and show progress is still baked in.

Is click & collect back online now?

No brainer for Fender if you ask me. With such a big upside to £4 of about 16% then a small investment would easily cover the costs. Unlikely to go down much more than 16%.

Vince, why do you think it’s “cheap as chips”? I’m invested but I don’t think it is and I think that’s perhaps one of the reasons it drops often on results day even if they are positive. Compared to its peers it’s relatively expensive and the results are never enough to make its SP more competitive. This is why I think IAG constantly outperforms EZJ because its PE ratio is much cheaper

Wow, fascinating insight there from you all. Really appreciate that and just reinforces my belief that I need to sit this out until results time. This is what these boards should be about as it gives balance to those trying to pump the SP without just reason (at least at the moment).

Food inflation results earlier through the roof. I wonder if Fenders anecdotal post on July 9th @14:31 about M&S prices shooting up to try and recover losses is showing up here. The other supermarkets have also said that they have benefitted from the M&S issues so I wonder if that was also due to the pricing which won't look good in the longer term and they will lose market share. It really is a mess trying to work out this company at the moment. I wonder how this will affect the SP today.

I asked my mate Copilot the following question and I was surprised how big C&C is and with is still being down it must be affecting current performance. The comments below are for the last fiscal year results, so before the cyberattack.

How much of M&S revenues are via click and collect?

Marks & Spencer has seen click and collect orders rise by 20%, and this channel now plays a significant role in its online strategy. While exact revenue figures from click and collect alone aren't broken out, it's clear that the service is a major contributor to M&S’s £1.2 billion in online sales, which accounted for 22% of international clothing and home sales.

More than one-third of online orders are now placed via the M&S App, with click and collect being a preferred fulfillment method. This reflects the growing strength of M&S’s omnichannel model, blending digital convenience with physical store access.

Dave, I was just asking myself the very same thing. The retail results overnight were very positive but it seems the whole sector is in reverse with M&S proving to be one of the worst vs its peers. The backdrop and lack of transparency will weigh more on M&S than the others unfortunately. There must be some doubts about the future performance of the retail sector in general after these results.

Anybody got any insight into the details and what is causing this drop?

For me it’s not about the SP level but more about the timing and now is not the right time for me to re-enter. Setting bottom price targets to add is not a good strategy on this falling knife IMHO . Once the muddy water clears then I’ll probably start accumulating again.

Isa, I’d say 300 where it might get some support. If it goes below then who knows. Any negative news elsewhere will pressure this stock. Sainsbury’s has openly said they benefited from the cyberattack so for sure so did others, and I believe they continue to do so. Also worth considering how much stress was put on the personnel, including top mgt, and if this will have a negative impact going forward. Fast fashion can’t be supported through these events so I’m expecting this to take a huge hit, including now and in the near term. How will the investors see that as its always been a major bell weather for the stock? Remember it struggled here last Xmas and that pressured the SP after overall amazing results.

Most food and clothing retailers up today while M&S loses 1.79%. The truth is Its a falling knife and there’s no point in denying it.

I sold all mine at 407 having accumulated fantastic profits. One of my investment strategies, which I used with M&S, is to accumulate when my stock is rising ensuring I have a safety net in case of any shocks. If I sell I normally leave about 20% in there and accumulate again or add if it drops over a certain amount. I would have done this if it hadn’t been for the attack and the continued uncertainty with the ongoing losses and waist. I’m convinced there will be a lot to be gained by waiting to get in. I’m not even interested in putting 20% of my pot back in and adding because I fear I could be chasing it for some time after as some are doing on here having continued to add when it’s been dropping 🔪 🤚

Maybe the pressure is more due to Trump’s comments about surprising Putin?

Davethehorse’s prediction is more realistic and likely to happen in the near term. M&S was 320p on Jan 24th & again on Mar 17th, both dates before the attack and some of you think it’s worth 400+ in the near term? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Before someone thinks about investing in M&S they need to think about that. WAIT AND YOU MIGHT BAG A BARGAIN. That’s what I’m doing anyway. DYOR

Neil, you wrote very recently “ I have M&S at 8-8.5 b by jan’26, market cap.” That would indicate a 20-25% increase in SP. So how can it be “hard to buy” if you’re convinced by that increased? You should be accumulating or have you just shown your true feelings that you’re scared it could drop big time and by increasing your average you could lose your gains?

Yes and a bit strange that the cost is identical to that of the cyberattack. Are they trying to conflate the 2 values to try and put into the minds of investors that £300 million is a positive? And this will hardly be a positive anyway for a while at least because it will be a drag on profits. I see a SP of 300 in the coming months unless something really positive comes out

If that £300 million loss would be the maximum then they would have said it during the AGM but obviously it isn’t and I suspect it will be worse. Machin said today, and I quote: “We’re hoping that by August we will have the vast majority of this behind us and people can see the full M&S.” Hoping and the vast majority, not all!! I honestly can’t understand how anyone can see this as a buy atm imho.
