Happy New Year to you all.

Just returning from my hols down under. The Santa rally I was hoping for whilst away never materialised but I was very happy with the result yesterday. Hopefully that will provide some sustained momentum now going forward. I think investors were nervous running up to yesterday but with those solid results I think it’s onwards and upwards from here. I went into yesterday with an average of 333 which meant I was less than 1% down but with yesterday’s performance and today’s re-ratings then hopefully we’ll keep pushing on.

Just about to board my first flight to Melbourne. By the time I get there tomorrow the BOE will have just released the latest interest rate decision. Here’s hoping for a reduction to add further momentum to the SP. Lower food price inflation announced today appears to be holding it back a little but that’s just for today. Rate reduction tomorrow and I hope it will be full steam ahead again.

It will be interesting to see the direction after the BRC retail sales consensus miss. I was going to buy more late yesterday on the assumption that it was selling on anticipated bad news due to belt tightening etc going into the budget, but got lost in other things and missed it. Next stop interest rates so I’m thinking it will recover into that. Fingers crossed 🤞

Fender, my bet is on the SP not with people on here. How could I be sure you'd pay up anyway?😂. I am also an expat living in Italy which complicates things 😉 Anyway, my forecast is purely banking on a herd mentality going into Xmas (Santa rally) and the fact that the SP is quite depressed and should have some upside. That's as far as my technical analysis has gone to assume 400p 😂

Well I’m betting on this stock hitting 400 sometime between now and year end. I’m breakeven at the moment and have now invested 40% of my pot that I’ve put aside for this stock. As soon as I get some forward momentum (+6% or so) then I will be adding the rest

Haha I hope so JJ and thanks for that. Yes we’ll be doing the great ocean road, staying in Port Campbell & Halls Gap, then on to Sydney for 1 week over Xmas, Ayres Rock 3 nights over New Year and Proserpine for 5 nights.

Thanks guys! I will be landing in Melbourne 23:00 and it’s the exact same time that the BoE will be giving its decision. So here’s hoping for some positive news at the start of a 3 week holiday in Oz 🙏

Anybody think of any potential obstacles/pitfalls between now and the New Year? BoE unlikely to increase interest rates so nothing there; possibly reduce. Any retail updates on the horizon?

Hi JJ, I was joking; I don't believe it either, but what you wrote could be feasible. I've criticised people in the past for trying to pump the stock after the cyber incident when there was clearly a risk and we often had sky high predictions just because they were invested, so I though I'd indulge myself also 🤣

So I finally dipped my toe back in at 331. My purchase is only 15% of my previous holding but will accumulate quickly if there is upside momentum (that's how I like to invest: protect and play in/out on built buffers). And will do so also if there is any downside as I reckon it will only be short term.

So now I reckon it will be 400 by the end of the year, 500 by June and 600 by the end of next year 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
