OPEC reportedly agrees on massive oil supply cut to offset virus impact; awaits Russia’s approval

OPEC, led by Saudi Arabia, has reported decided to cut production by 1.5 million barrels per day.
The deal is believed to be conditional on approval from Russia.
Analysts had been expecting an additional cut of at least 1 million barrels per day.

I'm guessing that Russia have agreed to the 1m OPEC+ cut and that 1.5m is proposed in total but needs non-opec allies to give final approval for a 500k cut contribution ... maybe won't know end result 'till tomorrow.

I was under the impression the decision would be at Friday's meeting ... and it does look like this 1.5m is still officially needing Russia to agree and non OPEC allies to contribute maybe 500k and agree to that.

No decent confirmed source yet but looking like OPEC agreed to cut 1.5m.

The gov have done nothing but play it down... massively. They have done sweet FA and still telling straight out lies and giving out insanely watered down poor advice and information. The media are just playing catch up with reality suddenly, which makes it seem like they are at blame for blowing it up.

We are all interested in exactky that ... but I'm not sure it is ... more hugely undervalued by any metric yes... but so much out of sync with the sector in recent downward moves ? Not so sure. Shell was down from 2300 to 1600s in the same timescale... and RRE's high was more of a spike up out of range at the time. Other vaguely comparable producing oilers have similar drops... Oil itself down from 70 - 50.
