I don't think that it`s a case that the world wont want iron and steel ,I think its the fear of them not having the money to purchase them and the massive recessions that are almost certain to happen around the world. Less demand will equate to job losses and reduction in income all the while debts have to be repaid and costs inflate dramatically so profitability will be in question. This is IMHO of course

@Sotolo `MY TAKE` .... The reason gold is at its price now is not because of lack of demand it`s due to the major banks heavily shorting it ... Without this downward pressure gold would fly ! There is not enough gold in the vaults to cover a fraction of paper interests and if the price was allowed higher they are scared that people would want their physical gold and that would kill those leveraged dealers. If that occurs gold price would truly rocket skyward, (supply / demand,) and the miners would flourish. That possibility cant be that far off as Russia / China`s gold backed currency plans gather pace it will bring those leveraged dealers crashing down to earth along with the Dollar. All IMHO DYOR etc

Maybe if the conflict was looked at from an unbiased perspective you MAY see that Russia was acting to prevent a ethnic cleansing of ethnic Russians and Russian speakers from the Eastern part of the Ukraine as well as establishing a neutral zone keeping NATO away from its borders as was PROMISED to Gorbachev when Ukraine etc were freed from the USSR. The action Russia has taken is the somewhat the same as what NATO (US) did in Serbia where ethnic Kosovans wanted independence from Serbia, they bombed civilians in Belgrade !!! No sanctions, no hand wringing just heads in the sand.

@stevebt Problem this time is that wage rises can not keep up with price inflation and deposits alone for most first time buyers are becoming enormous. This is the bread and butter for house builders as it moves the whole market . Once that scenario has been achieved and renters cant afford to pay their landlords then there will be an almighty house price crash. All this will happen as our currency is getting devalued stirring up more inflation and unemployment rears its head big time. A long depression is on the cards and can only be mildly averted if our illustrious leaders grow some intellect, drop the carbon BS , drill for gas and oil and have proper diplomatic talks with Russia. Boris stopped the tentative agreement Ukraine had with Putin to stop the conflict back in April but `good ol` Boris , no doubt at the behest of the WEF and Biden's mob, told elensky not to agree. So here we are now at the edge of a huge precipice staring down into a world of misery. Unfortunately people wont rise up to kick these clowns to touch until they are in neck deep and in danger of drowning. Too late then. Have a nice day.......

Keep increasing interest rates is a sure fired way of creating a DEPRESSION... The inflation we are experiencing is due to supply disruption of energy, food and commodities and raising interest rates to suppress the use of these will not have any deflationary effect. The only solution from this situation is to increase energy supply and stop giving our money away to corrupt crooks in UKRAINE !!! A Radical new Government is necessary to do what is needed, not like the idiotic, virtue signaling, egotistically self promoting previous useless bunch provided.
