Toff - Firstly you need to recognise the difference between somebody who is proud of their country and someone that is a xenophobe. I can't help the fact that I am proud of what my Father and all my relatives did for the war effort. My Father joined up at the age of 17 to join the Parachute regiment and he was the only member of his friends to come back alive as the rest were killed in action at Arnhem; literally days after training. His brother came back from fighting in Borneo at half his body weight. My grandfather fought for the duration of both world wars. I had a great uncle who in the end literally had to drink a half a bottle of gin before he could get into his plane. My Great-grandfather was awarded the George Cross. Fortunately these were the lucky ones to come back. I could go on and on. How that makes me a little Englander, xenophobe or a person of low intellect is beyond me. Clearly assumption is everything...
Secondly because I have sold shares doesn't make me a shorter as I bought them in the first place, I did not borrow them. I think you are conflating the argument as selling a share is not the same as shorting. A person should have the right to sell what he or she owns if they bought the asset in the first place. I do not know wether you are a person of low intellect or not.
I am white, that assumption is true. But I am married to a black woman and I have mixed race children. Does that makes me a little Englander and a xenophobe? Not sure. Doubt it. I'll leave it to others to decide... Assumption is everything. You might want to watch that especially if you consider yourself an intellectual...
