RE: 2018 results4 Jul 2019 11:16
I've just spent an hour reading through the 2018 Annual Report. My initial question has to be what did Simon Cole do to deserve a £25,000 bonus? Non of the other Executive or Non-Executive positions received a bonus.
Apart from that though I personally thing he report as a whole is very positive. Not necessarily everything in the report is positive, there are massive risks going forward especially if the £4.5m funding can't be raised this month. But this new board seem to have had a huge shake up of the business. There is clearly a new strategy in place. The new board accept and acknowledge the failings of the company in the past and have a proposed way forward that could prove successful with a following wind. If I wasn't already invested I'd actually be tempted to take a punt on this. Investing at this stage is definitely a punt. 7Digital is a long, long way from being a stable business with a glowing future. It may get there but anyone looking for a long term investment could be waiting 5 years to see genuine success. On the other hand, the company could hit a brick wall very quickly. One thing I am more sure of from this new board is that communications have improved. We were kept guessing far more than we should have done in 2018. But whether it's good news or bad, I think we'll have far more information to make more informed decisions on our investments.
