UK renews long-term complex weapons deal with MBDA

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 22 (Reuters) - British defence minister John Healey has announced the renewal of a 6.5 billion pound ($8.40 billion), 10-year complex weapons partnership with MBDA, the European missile systems company.

The deal with MBDA, which manufactures the Storm Shadow missile used by Ukraine, will deliver complex weapons faster and at lower cost, the government said in a statement on Monday.

MBDA is owned by Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo. ($1 = 0.7738 pounds) (Reporting by Paul Sandle, writing by Sarah Young, Editing by Kylie MacLellan)
