Standard Life Aberdeen Hire Ex-Schroders Finance Head As Non-Executive

Wed, 17th Jul 2019 10:14

(Alliance News) - Insurer and asset manager Standard Life Aberdeen PLC said Wednesday former Schroders PLC finance boss Jonathan Asquith will join the FTSE 100-listed firm as non-executive director from the start of September.

Asquith previously served as chief financial officer at fellow blue-chip asset manager Schroders from 2002 to 2007, before becoming vice chairman there until 2008. He is currently deputy chair at investment firm 3i Group PLC but is expected to retire in 2020.

Standard Life Aberdeen Chair Douglas Flint said he was "delighted" Asquith was joining the firm.

"His wide-ranging non-executive and executive experience across the financial services industry will bring further insight to our discussions," Flint added.

Shares in Standard Life Aberdeen were 0.3% higher at 305.40 pence in London on Wednesday.
