(Alliance News) - Shares in Inspiration Healthcare Group PLC soared on Monday as it said it has received an order for the supply of ventilators from the UK National Health Service.
The stock was trading 32% higher at 84.45 pence each on Monday morning in London.
The medical technology company said the order worth GBP1.3 million is in response to preparations being made by the Department of Health & Social Care to deal with the Covid-19 virus outbreak in the UK.
The order is expected to be satisfied "in the coming weeks".
"We are very pleased to have received this large order which is by far the largest single order we have ever had," said Chief Executive Neil Campbell.
"However, we are only too aware of the fast-changing nature of governmental controls being put in place around the world in response to the spread of the virus. Whilst we are working with our US supplier to achieve delivery as soon as possible, we recognise that this may be subject to a number of factors which are outside of our control," he added.
